A little family at the Center 💛
This week we’ve had the joy of watching a nesting pair of vermilion flycatchers caring for their three young ones here at the Center.
Seeing the parents patiently feeding and protecting their babies is a beautiful reminder of one of the teachings from Eight Steps to Happiness: that every living being has shown us kindness again and again, especially in the form of our mothers. When we pause and really look, the natural world quietly reveals this truth — love, care, effort, and protection are all around us.
These tiny birds remind us to open our hearts. Just as these parents cherish their young, we can train in cherishing others, beginning with those right in front of us. In this way, even a simple moment in the yard can become part of our spiritual practice.
May all living beings be protected, cared for, and happy. ✨
