A little family at the Center 💛

This week we’ve had the joy of watching a nesting pair of vermilion flycatchers caring for their three young ones here at the Center.

Seeing the parents patiently feeding and protecting their babies is a beautiful reminder of one of the teachings from Eight Steps to Happiness: that every living being has shown us kindness again and again, especially in the form of our mothers. When we pause and really look, the natural world quietly reveals this truth — love, care, effort, and protection are all around us.

These tiny birds remind us to open our hearts. Just as these parents cherish their young, we can train in cherishing others, beginning with those right in front of us. In this way, even a simple moment in the yard can become part of our spiritual practice.

May all living beings be protected, cared for, and happy. ✨

What a joyful and meaningful day at KMC Arizona yesterday for our Sacred Art: Drawing the Face of Buddha workshop. 🎨✨

Through learning to draw Buddha’s face, everyone had the opportunity to slow down, concentrate, and connect with the inspiring beauty and peace of enlightened art. It was wonderful to see so much care, creativity, and joy in the room as each person created their own beautiful image.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, helped set up, prepared materials, cleaned up, and made this special day possible. Sacred art is not just about creating something beautiful outwardly — it is also a way to develop faith, peace, and a deeper connection with Buddha in our own heart.

Thank you for being part of such a lovely day. 💛

Yesterday at KMC Arizona, we gathered for Offering to the Spiritual Guide in honor of Dharmachakra Day, the anniversary of Buddha turning the Wheel of Dharma and also the birthday of our precious Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

With beautiful offerings, prayers, and a peaceful community gathered together, we rejoiced in the extraordinary kindness of Buddha’s teachings appearing in this world, and in the continued blessings of our Spiritual Guide who makes these teachings so accessible and practical for modern life.

May the holy Dharma continue to flourish everywhere, bringing peace, wisdom, and lasting happiness to all living beings.

One of the best methods to increase our faith in the Buddhas and to receive their blessings is to gaze at an image of Buddha again and again. This naturally takes place as we learn to draw Buddha, and we create the good fortune to increase our ability to visualize Buddha during meditation. Everyone is welcome. No drawing experience or ability is required to have a meaningful experience at this workshop.
All materials included but feel free to bring your favorite acrylic brushes if you have some.
Cost: $50
*$10 FP Members or for Benefactors

A beautiful moment from IKRC GC ✨

In this short teaching clip, we are reminded how joyful, practical, and deeply meaningful Dharma can be when we bring it into our daily life.

There is something very special about receiving teachings in a blessed place, surrounded by community, kindness, and the sincere wish to grow spiritually.

This past Saturday at KMC Arizona, our Highest Yoga Ta**ra practitioners gathered for the beautiful practice of Vajrayogini Self-Initiation.

Through this special practice, we renew and strengthen our Bodhisattva and Ta***ic vows, purify negativities and downfalls, and receive powerful blessings for our spiritual path.

The shrine was filled with abundant offerings, and the atmosphere was peaceful, blessed, and joyful. We rejoice in everyone who helped prepare, arrange, and participate in this precious practice.

May these blessed conditions continue to flourish for the benefit of all living beings.
