St. Jeanne Jugan Ministry with Elders

St. Jeanne Jugan Ministry with Elders A program of Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, Inc. we are called to offer elders a sense of connection with the Church.

This Ministry to Elders has been placed under the patronage of St. Jeanne Jugan, foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor (LSP). The primary goal of the program is to offer elders, especially those in skilled nursing facilities, a sense of connection with the Church. Through on-site liturgies and individual visits, the program ministers will offer love and support to Catholic residents otherwis

e unable to attend Mass or receive other Sacraments in their home parishes due to illness, advanced age and/or limitations to mobility. This goal is consistent with Catholic social teaching rooted in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, with particular emphasis on the Lord’s identification with those physically and psychologically impaired: “When I was sick you visited me”. The ministry will be offered through priests, deacons and volunteers trained as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, working collaboratively.

This ministry has been spending a couple hours one morning a week at Pio Decimo Food Pantry. The number of grandparents raising their grandchildren continues to grow. They are legal guardians of the children, not babysitting while parents work but legally responsible for the children. In talking with these elderly you see their love for the grandchildren and do not feel it a burden. They do express getting tired by days end and they worry about the children, but what I witness the children also worry about the grandparent. Regardless of what drove the family into this situation, please keep them in prayer and support Pio Decimo Food Pantry located at 848 S. 7th Ave. Gifts of non-perishable food items or monetary gifts are always gratefully appreciated. Blessing on your day.

Patsy had the privilege of meeting one of Fr. Carlos Nagore's classmates. Fr. Taylor Mitchell was ordained May 22. She asked if she could hold his hands and began to pray blessings over him. He asked to give her special blessing of a newly ordained. He is on her Priest prayer list. Always thanking the Lord for the wonderful people placed in my life path.

MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER – THE FIRST DAY OF JUNE 2026

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as I come to the end of this first day of June, I thank You for the gift of life, for Your protection throughout the day, and for the countless blessings You have bestowed upon me. Thank You for walking with me through every moment and for Your unfailing love that never abandons me.

Lord, tonight I surrender my heart, my family, my work, my dreams, and my future into Your loving hands.

Where there is fear, fill me with faith.

Where there is anxiety, fill me with peace.

Where there is discouragement, fill me with hope.

Where there is weakness, fill me with Your strength.

Where there is pain, fill me with healing.

Where there is emptiness, fill me with abundance.

Where there is confusion, fill me with wisdom.

Where there is loneliness, fill me with Your presence.

Where there is bitterness, fill me with forgiveness.

Where there is darkness, fill me with Your light.

Where there is failure, fill me with renewed determination.

Where there is lack, fill me with Your provision.

Where there is division, fill me with reconciliation.

Where there is doubt, fill me with confidence in Your promises.

Where there is sorrow, fill me with joy.

Lord, as I begin this new month, help me to trust You more deeply and to walk more closely with You. Let June 2026 be a month of grace, restoration, divine favor, open doors, spiritual growth, and unexpected blessings.

May every setback become a testimony, every struggle become a stepping stone, and every challenge become an opportunity to witness Your power at work in my life.

As I lay down to rest, calm every worry and quiet every anxious thought. Cover me and my loved ones with Your precious protection. Grant us peaceful sleep, renewed strength, and hearts filled with gratitude.

I declare that this month belongs to You. My life belongs to You. My future belongs to You. And I trust that Your plans for me are good.

For You are my refuge, my provider, my healer, my strength, and my hope.

In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 🙏🏽
