Love Leads to Obedience đź’—

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love.” John 15:10 KJV

Obedience isn’t how we earn the love of Jesus. We obey because we love Him.

The closer we walk with Christ, the more His desires become our desires. Sometimes obedience is difficult. Sometimes it requires surrender.

Genuine obedience to God flows from our love for Him.

Today: Ask yourself, “Is there something Jesus has already told me to do that I need to obey?”

Abiding Produces Fruit 🍇

“He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.” John 15:5 KJV

Fruit is evidence of life in the Vine.

We don’t manufacture spiritual fruit by making ourselves look more Christian. As we remain close to Christ, His Word changes us from the inside out.

Our attitudes change. Our desires change. The way we respond to people changes. Obedience begins to flow from a heart that loves Him.

Today: Don’t focus only on producing fruit. Focus on staying close to the One who produces it in you.

Apart From Him, we can do Nothing 🌿

“For without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5 KJV

Those words humble me every time.

We can be busy for Jesus and still fail to depend upon Jesus. We can serve, lead, plan, work, and care for everyone around us while quietly running on our own strength.

We must depend upon HIM!

Jesus reminds us that He isn’t simply part of our life. He is our life.

The answer isn’t trying harder. It is depending more deeply on Him.

Today: Before you do anything for Jesus, spend time abiding with Jesus.

Pruning Has a Purpose ✂️

“Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” John 15:2 KJV

Pruning can feel like loss. God may remove something comfortable, expose something that needs to change, or lead us through a season we would never have chosen.

But the Gardener knows exactly what He is doing.

God’s pruning is purposeful. He loves us too much to leave us unchanged. Sometimes what feels like God taking away is actually God preparing us to bear more fruit.

Today: Trust the hand of the one who created you, even when you don’t understand the pruning.

Stay Close to the Vine 🌿

“Abide in me, and I in you.” John 15:4 KJV

A branch doesn’t struggle to produce fruit on its own. It simply stays connected to the vine.

Sometimes we exhaust ourselves trying harder, doing better, and fixing ourselves. But Jesus calls us to something different. He calls us to abide.

Stay close to Him. Stay in His Word. Depend on Him. Obey Him. The Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own strength. We must abide in Christ!

Today: Stop striving and stay close to Jesus. Fruit comes from abiding in Himđź©·

Delayed obedience is still disobedience. Faith says yes to God even before we know where obedience will lead.

James 1:22 KJV
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

It’s easy to agree with God’s Word. The question is whether we will actually obey it. 💗 God isn’t asking us simply to hear His truth, study His truth, or talk about His truth. He calls us to live it. Sometimes we won’t know what is on the other side of our obedience, but we know the One asking us to obey. And He is trustworthy.
