Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in more than 14,600 congregations around the United States discussed the importance of the Constitution and other foundational documents during Sunday services on May 31, 2026.

In a video shown on Sunday, President D. Todd Christofferson of the First Presidency, accompanied by Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said, “We believe that the most important aspect of the Constitution is its role in promoting and protecting the individual moral agency of God’s children everywhere.”

Members of one small congregation (branch) of the Church in Tampa, Florida, shared what’s happening in their home countries, the freedoms that have been taken away, and how grateful they are for the religious liberties that now allow them to worship as they wish.

Dade City Branch President Steven Hatch said, “Whatever is going on in the world or whatever politics are happening, the Savior unites us. It’s up to us members of the Church and all American citizens to continue fighting for religious freedom for all.”

What an incredible honor it was to meet with German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the beautiful Bellevue Palace in Berlin.

Our conversation centered on a truth we both cherish deeply: that selfless service is a force for good—one that strengthens individuals and uplifts communities. In a world that often feels divided, I am grateful for moments like this that remind us of what unites us.

I shared that service to God and service to our fellow men is at the heart of everything we do in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Across Germany and around the world, I see faithful men and women quietly giving of their time and talents to bless others. This is discipleship in its purest form.

I am thankful for leaders who encourage civic engagement and for all who choose to make a difference through acts of kindness, no matter how small. Together, as we follow the Savior’s example, we can help create communities rooted in love.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Naga Philippines Temple will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Elder Steven D. Shumway of the Philippines Area Presidency will preside at the event.

In October 2025, President Dallin H. Oaks spoke about the purpose and blessings of worshipping in temples.

“The sealing powers of the priesthood, directed by the keys restored in the Kirtland Temple, bring families together for eternity,” he said. “They are currently being exercised in a growing number of temples of the Lord throughout the world.”

At a women’s conference at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on Saturday, May 30, 2026, some 2,000 Latter-day Saint women gathered to discuss their influence in homes, the Church, the workplace and the community.

“Jesus noticed women. Jesus trusted women. Jesus welcomed women among his followers,” Sister Tracy Y. Browning of the Primary General Presidency said in her keynote address. “These women were not just standing on the margins of the Savior’s ministry. They chose to walk with him.”

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Bacolod Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

“These houses of the Lord bring a power to the people,” Elder Andersen said. “It allows the people to covenant with the Lord and remember those covenants on a regular basis because they’re in the house of the Lord. And the Lord blesses them for keeping their covenants.”

The temple is the third to be dedicated this year in the Philippines. Two additional temples are under construction, and six are in planning stages.

“The effect of these many temples in the Philippines will be the same effect as it is across the world,” Elder Andersen said. “There will be more disciples of Christ, more devoted Latter-day Saints, more families that are sealed who stay together and continue through the generations.”

Phones, watches, doorbells, cars, factories and energy grids are increasingly becoming connected, all collecting and communicating information to be interpreted, analyzed and acted upon.

Noting this trend, Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will discuss how to safely navigate artificial intelligence in a 60-minute gospel workshop video titled “Faith, Dignity and Human Flourishing: Hearing God’s Voice in an Age of Artificial Intelligence,” available on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
