Huge shout out to our District Deputy Marty Lomasney for leading this initiative.

We were very humbled and blessed to represent St Francis Council 13958 at the dedication of a new ultrasound machine for Thrive. The greater Grand Traverse area Knights of Columbus came together with our Supreme Council to raise the funds necessary to purchase this badly needed machine. Our Michigan Knights have purchased 107 such machines. Protecting and providing for the unborn and their mother’s is paramount.

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

58 Chevy update. Last Saturday I had to work in the morning and Tom had an issue and couldn’t make it. Soooo thanks to John who was a real trooper. He began sanding the cab down to bare metal. He made pretty good progress as well. I’ve taken some bits home to sandblast. Slow going but effective at blasting away rust. Summer is tough for worker bees. 🐝. Still making good progress.

The Knights of Columbus welcomed more than 105,000 new members during the past fraternal year, marking its strongest annual membership growth in a time span over a century, according to the 2026 Annual Report presented by Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly.

The report highlights a period of remarkable growth and renewed vitality for the world's largest Catholic fraternal organization. Men under the age of 35 emerged as the fastest-growing segment of new members, signaling a rising interest among young Catholics in faith, fraternity and service.

Kelly also pointed to the rapid expansion of Cor, the Order's spiritual formation initiative for Catholic men. What began as a pilot program has now grown to more than 6,000 councils worldwide, helping men deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer, Scripture and authentic fraternity.

The report underscored the Order's enduring commitment to charity. Knights donated more than $200 million to charitable causes and contributed over 48 million volunteer hours, supporting parish ministries, seminarians, disaster relief efforts, pro-life initiatives, veterans and families in need across the globe.

The organization now has more than 2.2 million members serving in over 17,000 councils worldwide. Its insurance program also remains one of the strongest in North America, enabling the Order to sustain its expanding charitable mission.

Had a great social night at Thatsa Pizza hosted by our own Troy Hall!!! He’s the owner/proprietor of Thatsa Pizza and our Deputy Grand Knight! Please be sure give them a try for a great meal. Big Red Update. Didn’t have a worker bee this last Saturday. I did have a three hour “consult” with a paint and body guy. It was time very well spent.

We continue to make progress. Attached are some more pics. I did complete the first “restored” body panel this weekend. Sand blasted and panted. Little steps and victories as we progress.

Met w Thirby’s paint shop manger and they have agreed to assist us with materials to get the job done. More on that if you attend our next business meeting.

The Greater Grand Traverse Knights of Columbus Councils came together and pooled our resources to purchase a new ultrasound machine for our friends at Thrive. Supporting families and protecting the unborn is a labor of love that we are happy to share with our community.
