Thank you City of Torrance, Mayor George Chen, and Torrance City Councilmembers for proclaiming May as Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in Torrance, recognizing the history, achievements, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders throughout the South Bay.

AAPI Heritage Month commemorates the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843, and marks the anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad on May 10, 1869, for which many of the laborers who laid the tracks were Chinese immigrants.

Today, the City of Torrance is proud to be home to a large and diverse AAPI population. We celebrate and honor the invaluable contributions AAPI communities have made to our nation and local community through culture and the arts, law, science and technology, sports, and public service — including the courageous Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who served on the front lines during World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic as health care providers, first responders, teachers, and other essential workers.

Thank you for presenting this proclamation to our Senior Pastor during the Torrance City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 5th 2026.

We’re so thankful for everyone who joined us for our Easter Celebration Dinner! What a blessing it was to gather together for a time of fellowship, laughter, and celebration as we reflected on the hope and victory we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Thank you to everyone who helped prepare, serve, decorate, and make the evening so special. We are grateful for our church family and all who came to celebrate with us.

This past Sunday, we joyfully celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was a powerful and Spirit-filled time as 165 people gathered (our highest attendance) to hear the Word of God and the message of the gospel. We are grateful for this opportunity to worship and praise God together with our church family on this glorious day.

He is risen indeed! 🙌 Because He lives, we can face tomorrow.

What an incredible Sunday at our Baptism Service! We celebrated 21 baptisms, along with 3 from Canvas EM; Jeremy Choi, Michael Burch, and Ken Mochizuki. We praise God for these brothers who stepped out in obedience through believer’s baptism, publicly professing their faith in Jesus Christ.

Please continue to pray for them as they grow in sanctification through the gospel. 🙏

Samuel Park has been installed as a new shepherd for a brand new house church that multiplied out of NAMB. Please pray for him and the new house church as they launched last Friday! We praise God for raising up new leaders here at GCC Canvas.
