Did you know we find Carbon-14 in fossils, coal, and even diamonds? These are materials that are claimed to be millions or billions of years old, yet C-14 should not still be detectable if that were true. It decays far too quickly. Its presence is not a trivial detail. It raises a serious challenge to the long-age timeline that is often assumed rather than directly observed.

The deeper issue is this: dating methods depend on starting assumptions about the past, including initial conditions and decay rates. Those assumptions shape the conclusions. When the actual measurements do not line up with the expected ages, it is not the evidence that is failing. It is the framework being used to interpret it. When you step back and evaluate the data honestly, it points to a much more recent history, fully consistent with the biblical account of creation just thousands of years ago.

CHARLES LYELL: THE MAN WHO REWROTE TIME TO RUN FROM TRUTH

Charles Lyell was a lawyer turned geologist who stepped into the 1800s with a very clear objective. He was not a neutral observer. He was a man driven by an agenda. Lyell openly declared that his mission was to "free science from Moses". He wanted to detach geology from the authority of Scripture. He approached the earth with a worldview already in place, rejecting the Bible first and then creating a narrative to support that rejection. His influence reshaped the Western world because he did not simply study the rocks. He reinterpreted them through a lens of unbelief and convinced others to do the same.

Yet before Lyell appeared, science and Scripture were not divided. They were allies. Ministers studied geology as confirmation of the Flood. They examined astronomy to marvel at the heavens that declare the glory of God. Biology was taught as a testimony of complex design. Scientific discovery was used in sermons to strengthen faith and defend the accuracy of the biblical record. Science equipped pastors. It fortified believers. It magnified the power, beauty, and intelligence of the Creator. For centuries, science served as a faithful witness to God’s handiwork. But Lyell broke that partnership. He pushed aside the Bible and claimed the rocks “looked old,” not because the evidence demanded it, but because his worldview required it. He ignored rapid burial. He dismissed marine fossils on mountains. He glossed over continent wide layers that scream catastrophe. Then he dragged countless others into the same error, influencing Darwin, reshaping education, and pushing entire nations to interpret the world through unbelief rather than through Scripture.

And that is where the danger lies. When one man follows his own thoughts instead of the Word of God, he leads multitudes astray. Lyell replaced truth with assumptions and multitudes followed his lead. But as believers today, we must not repeat that mistake. We should be turning to God’s Word for truth and returning to the original purpose of science. Science exists to glorify God, not to push Him away. Not to make excuses. Not to invent timelines to avoid accountability. We must reclaim the narrative. The Creator is the rightful Author of science. Not millions of years. Not deep time. Not evolution. Truth belongs to God and His Word stands above every idea that tries to erase Him.

THE TOWER OF BABEL REMEMBERED AROUND THE WORLD

The Bible records that after the global Flood, humanity gathered together, shared one language, and attempted to build a tower reaching the heavens in open defiance of God. Scripture tells us God came down, confused their language, and scattered them across the earth. What is remarkable is not merely that Genesis records this event, but that echoes of both the Flood and Babel appear in cultures scattered across the globe, preserved in ancient memory long after people were divided and dispersed.

On the Polynesian island of Hao, tradition speaks of God coming down, tearing down a towering structure, and giving the builders different languages. A Chaldean account tells of proud people united by one language who built a great tower until God sent a destructive wind and introduced linguistic division. The ancient Kaska people locate Babel itself in Babylon along the Euphrates River, matching the biblical geography. Even ancient Mesopotamian literature such as Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta describes a time when all people spoke one language before divine intervention brought confusion and separation.

Across the ocean in ancient Mexico, the Toltec people preserved a strikingly detailed memory. They recorded a world destroyed by a great Flood, survivors escaping in a closed chest, and humanity multiplying afterward. Following the Flood, they describe the construction of a very high tower, the sudden confusion of languages, and the scattering of peoples into different regions. They even traced their own origins to a small group who spoke one language, crossed great waters, lived in caves, and wandered for generations before settling. These events were said to occur just centuries after the Flood, aligning closely with the biblical timeline.

These accounts are not coincidences. They are fragmented memories carried by real people who walked away from a real event. As families spread across the earth after Babel, they took their shared history with them. Over time, details blurred, but the core facts remained. A great Flood. One language. A towering structure. Divine judgment. Confused speech. Global dispersion. The Tower of Babel was not mythology invented by Moses. It was history remembered by the nations. And it remains the most coherent and powerful explanation for why the world speaks in many tongues today.

THE ROCKS THAT ROARED: DOLOMITE AND THE FLOOD

Recently, geologists studying dolomite formations in northern Italy once again faced the century old puzzle known as the “Dolomite Problem.” These towering peaks called the Dolomites are made almost entirely of a mineral that stubbornly refuses to form under the calm, slow conditions that evolution based geology requires. Dolomite, a calcium magnesium carbonate, looks much like limestone, but its chemistry tells a very different story.

For over 200 years, scientists have tried to reproduce dolomite formation in laboratories and natural settings. Yet dolomite does not form easily in today’s oceans or shallow seas. It requires extreme heat, high pressure, and concentrated chemical reactions, conditions that simply do not exist in normal marine environments. Despite endless experiments, no one has found a slow, steady process that could account for the immense dolomite layers covering vast areas of the earth. The very existence of these rocks defies the long age story of gradual deposition.

The Dolomite Mountains themselves testify to rapid, catastrophic transformation. Their clean boundaries, upright fossil layers, and vast extent reveal a violent, water driven formation. During the year long Flood described in Genesis, massive amounts of hot, mineral rich water would have surged through layers of sediment, rapidly converting limestone into dolomite. The energy, heat, and pressure from global upheaval provided the exact conditions needed to accomplish what slow natural processes never could. The Dolomites rise as a monument in stone declaring not eons of quiet change, but the sudden power of God’s judgment and the truth of His Word.
