Toms River Church of Christ

Toms River Church of Christ The Toms River Church of Christ is a non-denominational Church. All are loved & welcome! To study the word of God is to better understand Him.

The Toms River Church of Christ is an independent non-denominational Church. We welcome all who wish to join us to worship our God and his son, our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. We study & apply the Scriptures of the New Testament to our worship services, as well as our daily lives. We study the whole Bible not just the New Testament or the parts that we like. Our primary goals are to bring others i

nto the Body of Christ & to restore religious unity based upon the Bible. Today, religion is so divided & diverse, but we believe that all God-fearing people can unite thru God's Word. Our appeal to all, is to return to the Bible. Adhere to the Word & do not add to or alter the guidance & teachings of the scriptures. Our objective is the religious unity of all believers in Christ & the restoration of New Testament Christianity. The New Testament is our source for guidance & teaching. The Great Commission:
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Scripture is the Word of God:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

AN URGENT APPEAL FOR DISASTER ASSISTANCE

To: Disaster Assistance Committee, Churches of Christ

Dear Brethren,
I respectfully write to appeal for urgent disaster relief assistance on behalf of the Church of Christ, Four Towns, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, following a devastating flood that has severely damaged the church property and displaced the resident preacher and his family.

After persistent heavy rainfall, floodwaters overwhelmed the church premises due to the inadequate drainage system in the surrounding community. The force of the flood caused the church’s perimeter fence to collapse, allowing large volumes of water from neighboring areas to surge into the church compound. As a result, the entire premises were inundated, causing significant damage to the church property.
The flood also entered the preacher’s residence within the church compound, leaving the house unsafe and uninhabitable. Consequently, the resident preacher and his family have been displaced and are presently without suitable accommodation.

The congregation is now faced with several urgent needs, including:
- Emergency relief and temporary accommodation for the displaced preacher and his family.
- Reconstruction of the collapsed perimeter fence
- Construction of an effective drainage system and other flood-control measures
- Rehabilitation of the preacher’s residence
- Restoration of the church premises and damaged facilities
- Cleanup of the environment and implementation of measures to prevent future flooding.

The magnitude of this disaster is beyond the financial capacity of the local congregation. I therefore humbly appeal to the Disaster Assistance Committee of the Churches of Christ to prayerfully consider providing financial assistance, building materials, engineering support, disaster relief supplies, or any other assistance that will help restore the church property and relieve the suffering of the affected preacher’s family.

The Church of Christ at Four Towns has continued to serve as a place of worship, evangelism, spiritual growth, and encouragement to many within the community. Your timely intervention will not only help rebuild damaged structures but will also strengthen the faith and hope of brethren who have been deeply affected by this unfortunate disaster.

On behalf of the congregation and all who are burdened by this situation, I sincerely ask for your compassionate consideration and support. Every contribution, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference in helping this congregation recover and continue its work for the Lord.
Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and commitment to assisting brethren in times of need. May God richly bless your efforts and reward your labor of love.

Respectfully submitted,

SATAN: THE SPIRIT OF DISOBEDIENCE IN HUMAN BEING AND NOT A COSMIC BEING - Brother Bassey - Minister

There is a profound sense in which every act of disobedience makes a person their own Satan. The word “satan” means adversary or opponent. When God calls you in one direction and you deliberately choose another, you become the opponent of God’s purpose in your own life.

In that moment, the greatest enemy is not an external devil but the rebellious will within. This echoes the biblical theme that sin operates through human desires and choices. The serpent may tempt, but a person becomes their own adversary when they embrace the temptation and resist God’s will.

In Scripture, Satan is portrayed as the adversary who opposes God’s will. When a person knowingly disobeys God, they are acting in opposition to God and are therefore exhibiting behavior associated with the adversary.

For example, Jesus told Simon Peter, “Get behind me, Satan” (Matthew 16:23), not because Peter was literally Satan, but because at that moment Peter’s words opposed God’s redemptive plan.

BRICK AT A TIME.
God doesn't build your life in a day - He builds it in steps, in moments, in obedience, Every prayer is a brick.
Every sacrifice is a brick.
Every act of obedience is a brick.
Keep building.
God is not finished with you yet.
