Scriptures for Days of Awe, daily prayer from 9/11/2026-9/21/2026
New International Version Psalm 27
Of David. In this season, draw closer to the Lord God Almighty,before Yom Kippur!
(Oren Salmo 27, por 10 dias en Septiembre 11 a Septiembre 21
antes de dia de Expiacion, acercar a nuestro Dios todo poderoso!)

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.

4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.

6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.

7 Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, Lord;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
spouting malicious accusations.

13 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

Days of Awe, start September 11/ 2026 at sundown to September 21th at sundown

The Days of Awe (known in Hebrew as Yamim Noraim) are the ten holy days in Judaism starting with Rosh Hashanah and ending with Yom Kippur. This time is for deep self-reflection, asking people for forgiveness, and changing your ways before God seals your fate for the new year.

Themes and Beliefs

The Book of Life: God writes down who will live or die for the next year on Rosh Hashanah.

Changing Decree: Good acts can change a harsh judgment during these days.

Three Pillars: People focus on teshuvah (repentance), tefilah (prayer), and tzedakah (charity). [1, 2]

Main Customs/traditions

Rosh Hashanah: Blow the shofar (ram's horn) and eat sweet foods like apples and honey.

Seeking Forgiveness: Say sorry to friends, family, and anyone you hurt during the past year.

Yom Kippur: Fast, pray all day, and ask God for final forgiveness on the holiest day of the year.

New moon, in the month of Elul, starts this Shabbat, Friday at sundown.

The 6 th month on the Jewish calendar, is known for a time of:

Spiritual preparation: Introspection of deep personal reflection of the past year, actions, mistakes, and future goals.

Psalm 27 is read throughout the month, in the morning and evening prayers ( to reinforce trust in God’s protection).

A very special season: The King, Messiah is in the field! Our KING is exceptionally accessible to everyday people, who wish to approach HIM and return ( teshuvah). To repent and return! A good time to return just before the High Holy days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

The Hebrew letters ELUL, form an acronym for “ Ani L’dodi, V’ dodi Li”,: “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. Song of songs 6😊

It symbolizes a mutual awaking of love and closeness between humanity and the DIVINE.

Blow the shofar, a ram’s horn is sounded every morning, except Shabbat. ( In some congregations, it is sounded after morning service), to wake up the soul and warn of an approaching day of judgement.
