John 14:23a - Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.

Matthew 16:16-19 - 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
*CHURCH – Jesus Gathering His Followers to Each Work Together as a Movement on His Mission!

Matthew 28:18-20 - 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Luke 9:23 - Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Romans 12:1 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
*SACRIFICE – Give Up Living for Ourselves, to Live Instead for Jesus & His Mission for His Church!

Key Verse - Ephesians 4:16 - From him (Christ) the whole body (The Church), joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

The Battle Belongs to God
What if the challenge you're facing right now is actually an invitation from God?
The battles we face can feel overwhelming, leaving us exhausted, anxious, and unsure of what to do next. Yet from the valley where David stood before Goliath to the quiet moments where he poured out his heart in worship, we see a man who chose a different response. David consistently chose worship over worry and surrender over self-reliance, trusting that God was the true source of his strength and victory.
God’s Word reminds us of this powerful truth:
📖 1 Samuel 17:47 (NIV) — “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
When we place our battles in God's hands, we discover that we were never meant to carry them alone. His strength is greater than our fears, and His victory is greater than our obstacles.

What Worship Really Means
Scripture invites us to look deeper than our circumstances.
This message takes us into the life of David, the shepherd boy who became a giant-slayer, and asks a powerful question: What was the secret behind his extraordinary victories? David understood something many of us forget. The battles we face are not ultimately ours to fight. True worship is more than singing songs on Sunday. It is a daily posture of trust, surrender, and dependence on God in every circumstance.
God’s Word reminds us of this powerful truth:
📖 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NIV) — “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.”
When we worship, we shift our focus from the size of our problems to the greatness of our God. Worship reminds us who is truly in control and where our victory comes from.

Psalms 1:1-6 - Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

"Blessed is the man..." That word blessed means happy, flourishing, deeply satisfied.



1. HAPPINESS BEGINS WITH WHAT WE REFUSE TO FOLLOW

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

WHO IS SPEAKING INTO YOUR LIFE?



2. HAPPINESS COMES FROM WHAT WE CHOOSE TO PURSUE

Psalm 1:2 "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night."

WHAT YOU PURSUE MATTERS

What occupies your mind will influence your desires.
Your desires influence your decisions.
Your decisions determine your direction.
And your direction determines your destination.



3. WHEN YOUR ROOTS GO DEEP, YOUR LIFE BECOMES FRUITFUL

Psalm 1:3 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

"Don't chase the fruit. Deepen the roots."



4. THE HOLY LIFE GOES AGAINST THE CURRENT

Verses 4-6: Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Resistance doesn't always mean you're going the wrong way. Sometimes resistance proves you're going the right way.



5. THERE ARE TWO PATHS

Matthew 7:13-14 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

"Every choice is a step, and every step is taking you somewhere."



THE GREAT PARADOX OF HAPPINESS –

You can’t find happiness by chasing happiness. You can only find true happiness by seeking God!

1. HIS GREATEST WEAPON WAS WORSHIP!
1 Samuel 17:4, 45-50 – 4 A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span. (About 9 ft. 9 in.)…….

2. WORSHIP CARRIED DAVID THROUGH EVERY BATTLE IN LIFE!

• David’s song went out before him into every battle. • The years watching sheep weren’t wasted — they were training.
• David Suffered Lots: dismissed, hunted, betrayed, mistreated, attacked, sinned, lost loved ones, nearly killed by his own son.
• Through all of it — he Praised his way through. • Our world medicates. David worshipped.
• David wrote at least 75 of the 150 Psalms. • Jesus quoted the Psalms more than any other Old Testament book.
• Chains break, Walls fall, Prisons open, When God’s people Worship, Praise, Give Thanks, & Sing to Him!

Psalm 100:1-5 - 1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God.
