Do you realize as a Christ follower you have been blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing? We don’t beg for them; we don’t wish for them; they are ours. Let that soak in. Praise God! His mercy is unfathomable.
Ephesians 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”

Taking Our Thoughts Captive—
Have you ever noticed in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 where the weapons of spiritual warfare are mentioned, it says “ …and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” One of the most unrecognized and yet incredibly effective forms of spiritual warfare is to take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. We’re not to allow our thoughts to dwell on things that are sinful or defeating. We stand up to them in Jesus’ name and deliberately put our mind on God’s word and His Truth. We have to pay attention. Next time depressing, fearful, angry, or negative thoughts come into your mind, take a deep breath, remember you have authority, then rebuke them in Jesus’ name. Turn your mind to His Word. When the thought says you’re not good enough, you say “I am a child of God, in Jesus’ name!” When the thought says no one cares, you say Romans 5:8 In Jesus’ name, “God shows His great love for me because while I was still a sinner, Jesus died for me.” You get the idea. Stand up! Be deliberate! You’re a child of God. It’s time to heal and be set free. If you diligently try this and you can’t seem to shake the bad thoughts off, have a friend pray with you. If you’re still not getting free, find a counselor or pastor who believes and is able to help unpack what you’re experiencing. Freedom is the birthright of God’s children. God bless you!

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Do we sometimes mistake worry for prayer? I was talking with a friend the other day who was saying how easy it is to do that. Worry is defeating, drains our energy and does not improve the situation. It’s a load too heavy for us to carry and can impact our health. Worry also interrupts our faith. It’s the trusting prayer that changes things. We know that Jesus wants to carry that heavy load for you. In 1 Peter 5:7 we’re asked to “Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.” What are we to do instead of worry? (1 Thesalonians 5:18) “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" Whenever I can’t shake the worry, the Lord has always been faithful to speak to my heart when I ask Him to. Then I hang onto what He says like an anchor and refuse the worry. He is faithful and loves you so much. He really will carry that heavy load if you surrender it to Him and refuse to entertain worried thoughts.

A Word about Healing—

God is alive and walking with us as we live our life. His presence with us is very real. Much of what we experience in our relationship with God is by faith. According to your faith is a phrase used repeatedly by Jesus. When I wasn’t sure God healed, I wasn’t healed. When I saw the heart of God, that He healed all who came to Him and by His nature He is a healing, restoring God and has promised healing, I embraced this completely. I have been healed several times and seen healing happen on a regular basis around me. Healing is not necessary for salvation, but it is something very real and provided thru Jesus Christ. He sometimes deals with our mindsets, strongholds and sin as we seek Him for healing. He gets the Glory as He demonstrates His love for us in setting us free. When I have been healed it was important to dwell on the healing scriptures and seek Him to remove from my life anything not pleasing to Him. To surrender to Him in everything. To not allow fear, anxiety, bitterness, resentments, jealousy, judgment, etc to consume my thoughts, etc. surrender it all to Him. Not allow thoughts that tear us or others down. Take them captive and turn mind to what is good. Jesus went thru all that suffering that we be saved and healed. It’s available to anyone who is willing to surrender their life and their willfulness to Him. I walk in this and see healing as a way of life. There’s nothing in it if pride or self. It’s our Father in heaven and Jesus having compassion on us. Don’t listen to those who judge and criticize others. Don’t interpret the Bible by what you experience. Look for the heart of God in the scriptures and believe what you are reading. As a side note, I went back to using KJV as I noticed some versions made God’s statements less certain. When I believed the statements of certainty, what was promised happened. This is a very personal walk of learning to obey God more fully and requires your focus. You’ll have to shut out the voices that argue against healing and point to the exceptions. Everyone not sure abt healing has the story of the most godly person they know who wasn’t healed etc. Many people also feel threatened by this topic. Don’t listen to them. Seek the truth in scripture. God has compassion on us and part of that compassion is healing. Healing doesn’t come thru striving or trying to work up faith. It comes as we rest in the knowledge of Who it is we are trusting in. In our quiet confidence in His loving care for us. Whether we receive healing or not does not change who God is and the truth of what He says. We are just imperfect people trying to follow a holy God. The most important thing is that we belong to Him and our names are written in heaven.
