It’s difficult to put in words what going back to Word of Life Jenness Park felt like. Not being on staff with WOL when I had the privilege of speaking there wasn’t what I expected, but it didn’t take God by surprise. The staff there are our friends. People that God allowed us to personally interact and “recruit” to be part of that team. There were many questions, but we mostly focused on the work at hand and on serving the campers God brought us. God moved in the hearts of 30 campers, 4 for salvation and 26 for dedication. Who knows what God will do in the life of just one of those young men or women in the days ahead. As for me, my heart’s filled with gratitude. Returning this summer was a gift. God is good! He’s good in the unexpected. He’s good when we’re left feeling confused, and He’s there as I wait for my next assignment. He's good all the time.
