🎶 What an unforgettable afternoon!

To everyone who came out — thank you. Your presence made the afternoon even more special and we are so grateful for this incredible community.

The church at its best has never been about what belongs to us. It’s about what we’re willing to share — our compassion, our resources, our attention to the person whose well-being has somehow become our own. So stop asking “what’s mine?” and start asking “with what I have, how can I bless my neighbor?”

How have you received or given a blessing to a neighbor? Share in the comments.

From 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 the Hyde Park Social Justice group is hosting an event called Use Your Voice: Citizen Engagement and Public Participation.

The evening will feature a practical, community-focused conversation led by Tampa City Councilmember Bill Carlson, Clay Hollis of Tucker Hall, education advocate Damaris Allen, and veteran journalist Tom Scherberger as moderator. Together, they will discuss how citizens can responsibly and effectively engage with public officials, participate in civic life, and advocate constructively for issues important to their families and neighborhoods. A light dinner will be provided.

💛 Shoutout to our incredible Dunbar Doers!
This dedicated group of volunteers showed up and served with joy at Dunbar's Pulse-A-Palooza! 🎉
From start to finish, they gave their time, their energy, and their hearts to make the event a success. Hot dogs fresh off the grill with chips and ice cold water were served to 300 students.

We recently celebrated a team member whose journey has shaped all of us.

She started with us in the café, in a season of rebuilding her life as a recovering addict. With determination, humility, and an incredible work ethic, she showed up day after day—learning, growing, and believing in something more for herself.

Along the way, she put herself through college. She kept going when it was hard. She leaned into community. And step by step, she rose.
Now, she’s stepping into a new role as our comptroller.

It’s an incredible accomplishment. But what we love most about her story is that she didn’t just rise on her own—we rose with her. Her courage made us better. Her growth strengthened our community. Her story reminds us what’s possible when people are given a chance, surrounded by support, and willing to do the work.
This is the kind of transformation that stays with you.
We’re so proud of her—and so grateful to be part of the journey.
