A Prayer About the Images of God

Gracious God, you are known to us by many names. We know that you are God but your manifestation in our lives may be different at different times. Make yourself known to us in the manner in which we need to find you this day. Hear us as we call to you by the name we call you by this day. See us in the image by which we need to be seen this day. Amen.

Colossians 1:13-17 13 He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers-- all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

This is the WORD of the LORD. Thanks be to GOD.

The Flowers in the Chancel Sunday, May 31 are dedicated to the glory of God and were given in loving honor of Nancy Callahan on her last day as PCPC’s gifted and amazing Music Director. Thank you for all of your countless hours of delightful worship music on the organ and piano, choirs direction, rehearsals and concerts leadership, pastoral collaborations, MusiCamp management, and your incredible music knowledge! You are loved and will be missed by all! With love from the Tampa Oratorio Singers.

A Prayer About Peace

Dear God, today as we pray, we pray for more peace in our lives. We ask to be reminded of your promise through your Son, that we would not be left without peace. "Peace I leave with you" was the assurance we received. We seek to find images in the world of the presence of the Holy Spirit as the advocate in our lives. We seek the peace and calm that can only come from a life focused on you. Help us with our focus this day. Amen.
-Rev. Mike Peacock

John 14:26-27 - 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.

This is the WORD of the LORD. Thanks be to GOD.
