THE PICTURE YOU CAN'T SEE FROM WHERE YOU'RE STANDING

So much of the time, we think we're living in one kind of reality.

We think the snapshot in front of us is the whole picture.

But there's a bigger picture we're not seeing.

For those of us who follow Jesus, the bigger picture is this: we have a King of kings and Lord of lords who is above every situation we're walking through.

He is sovereign. He is in control. He is powerful. He can do all things.

But so often, we zoom in on our pain and our suffering instead. And that's real, we're not trying to discredit it.

When that becomes our whole focus, though, it pulls in anxiety, fear, and hopelessness with it.

When we focus on the bigger picture, something shifts: there's hope, there's joy, and there's peace.

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN GOD SAYS NO?

Some of us have prayed for things, prayed through things, and they still haven't happened.

We've prayed in the middle of grief, illness, and infertility.

We've prayed through prodigal children running from God, lost jobs, broken relationships, and broken marriages.

We prayed for a yes.

And we found ourselves asking, "God, why hasn't this worked?"

So what do we do in those moments?

We hold on to Him through it all.

We hold on to Him because He's trustworthy, and one thing we have to settle in our hearts is this: He knows what He is doing.
