You can be surrounded by people and still feel like an outsider.
This week, we walked through the story of Judas — one of the twelve disciples, personally chosen by Jesus, yet spiritually disconnected.
He was close to Jesus physically. He witnessed miracles. He had authority to heal and cast out demons. But his heart was divided.
Judas followed Jesus publicly, but privately wrestled with greed, pride, and doubt. He never called Jesus “Lord” — only “Rabbi.” And ultimately, he betrayed Him for 30 pieces of silver.
When guilt consumed him, Judas didn’t run to Jesus. He ran to isolation. And it destroyed him.
Here’s the lesson: Proximity to Jesus isn’t the same as surrender. Being in church doesn’t mean you’re fully His. Calling Him a good teacher isn’t the same as declaring Him Lord.
Jesus loved and chose Judas, even knowing what he would do. The rejection didn’t come from Jesus. It came from Judas.
So the question is: Are there areas of your life you haven’t fully surrendered to Him?
📖 Swipe to see how divided hearts, isolation, and lack of surrender can leave us spiritually empty — even when we’re physically present.
