devotional for starting monday ephesians 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power. the statement "enlighten the eyes of the heart" paul uses this phrase to mean inner spiritual perception. He wants God to open believers' eyes for a deeper understanding, not just their logical minds, to grasp spiritual truths. this refers to the confident and certain future assurance of salvation and eternal life that God promised when He called a person to Himself. over all the apostle paul is asking God to give believers spiritual insight so they can fully understand the incredible value, future, and power they have in Jesus Christ 📖🙏🙌💒

saturday's reflections ephesians 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. these verses is a prayer by the apostle paul asking God to give believers spiritual insight, wisdom, and a deeper, personal understanding of who He is, what He has given and how He's provided for His children. paul also asks God (the "Father of glory") to give the believers the Holy Spirit to grant them spiritual wisdom and revelation not earthly wisdom 🙏 📖💒🙌
