tuesday's morning enlightenment colossians 3:9 lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him. christians must abandon deceit and embrace their transformed identity. believers have to "put off" their old, sinful nature, they are expected to be truthful. in its place, they continually "put on" a new, godly self that grows in knowledge and reflects the image of Christ. here's the command "do not lie to one another" paul begins with a direct, practical command. he explicitly links honesty to the believer's new identity, making deceit completely incompatible with a life following from Christ. the phrase "taken off" (or "put off") uses clothing imagery, suggesting that the old way of life, including lying, malice, and selfishness—should be stripped away and discarded permanently like dirty wore out clothes 📖🙏💒🙌

good blessed monday morning. today's devotional colossians 3:9 lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him. this verse instructs believers to abandon deceptive practices and embrace their new transformed identity found in Christ. it calls believers to align their daily behavior with their new identity in Christ. it commands followers of Christ to abandon deceit, recognizing that they have shed off their old sinful nature and are being continuously transformed to perfectly reflect the character of God their Creator and "Truth" of their Saviour, Jesus. 🙏📖💒🙌
