Yesterday's message referenced Mark 1:16-18. The first apostles, fishermen, were casting their nets when Jesus walked by on the shoreline and said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men". They didn't ask where He was going. They didn't ask how it was going to happen. They didn't ask how long they would be gone. They dropped their nets and went with Jesus. They COMITTED to the pursuit of whatever He had to offer. No looking back. No plan B. They just went on the faith that whatever they were pursuing in following Jesus was good!
What are you committed to? Nobody is uncommitted. Our commitments make us who we are. Our commitments make us the good person or bad person we are. Our commitments make us productive or lazy. Our commitments also make us become closer to, or further from God. If we want to be in a closer walk, we must MOVE our commitments to what is wholesome to the spirit. Commit to being in the fellowship of the believers. Commit to learning more about the God we worship. Commit to using the gifts God has given you in ministry. Commit to outreach by sharing your gifts to spread the good news to the world around you.
Make the commitment, so that the commitment can make you.
