Devotion 5/28

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment
Hebrews 9:27

Is there a chance after death? Absolutely not. There are some people who teach and preach that we have a second chance—after we die—to get right with God. That is false, that is heresy, and I do not want to leave that hope to you. If you want to be saved, you may be saved. If you need to be saved, Christ can save you. And whosoever will is able to come, but I want to tell you with all of the urgency, emergency, function, and unction of my soul, you will not come to the judgment of God and be able to throw yourself on the mercy of the court and say, “God I now believe; have mercy, God. Please save me.” If you want mercy, you may have it. If you want grace, you may have it. If you want forgiveness, you may have it. But you must have it in this life. The Bible says now is the accepted time. Today is the day of salvation. The Bible says it is appointed for man to die once; after this, there is not a second chance, there is judgment.

2 Timothy 3:16-17: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of some God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
1 Peter 2:2: "Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation."

The late-20th-century model of using stadium-grade lighting, professional concert sound, and lifestyle-focused sermons to attract massive audiences is losing its efficacy.
• Shallow Theology: Critics and former members increasingly note that sermons often lean into "prosperity gospel" themes or generic self-help rather than deep theological discipleship.
• The Consumer Mindset: When a church treats attendees like consumers by prioritizing a slick production, attendees treat the church like a business. If the entertainment value drops or a better option appears, consumer-minded churchgoers leave without hesitation.
• Desire for Authenticity: Younger generations, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, are actively moving away from heavily produced corporate environments. They are migrating either out of organized religion entirely or
• toward smaller, localized communities that offer deep, face-to-face relationships.

Devotion 5/6

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

—Galatians 3:24

When God gave the law, He knew that man was incapable of keeping it. Many persons are confused as to why God gave the law, if He knew man could not possibly keep it. The Bible teaches that the law was given as a mirror; I look into the law and see my spiritual condition. I see how far short I come, and this drives me to the cross of Christ for forgiveness.

The Bible teaches that this is why Christ came—to redeem them that were under the law. Man could not keep the law; he was condemned by the law.

Thank God we live in the time of Grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord!!
