Thanks to Brad Orvis who installed a friendly bench between the Little Free Pantry and the Little Library. We will hold a blessing of this sacred space in midsummer…stay tuned for details.

Congratulations to Heidi Dinklemeyer upon her graduation from Smoky Mountain High School. She’ll be attending Appalachian State University this fall and is planning to major in environmental science. St. David’s shared in prayers and blessings for her godmother Lori, her mom Kelley, and her dad Brian last Sunday on The Feast of Pentecost.

Our bulletin and newsletter now include prayer cycles from the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina and the Anglican Communion. These prayers help us stay spiritually connected with other parishes both locally and around the world, while also drawing our attention to communities we may not often think about. This week, we are praying for St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brevard and the Church of Nigeria.

The Rev. Roxane Gwyn will continue serving as our interim rector through the end of the year, faithfully guiding our community until a permanent priest is called. We are deeply grateful for her leadership. Please keep Mother Roxane in your prayers during this time of transition.

St. David’s Little Free Library goes live!

During recent weeks, Marilyn Jody and Harry Brown constructed and installed a Little Free Library at St. David's near the food pantry. This was a project that Marilyn advocated for during her time on the Vestry, and that the Vestry approved back in the fall. Barb Manke will be helping out as the librarian. If you have books that you would like to donate, please talk to Barb.

From Grayson Myers: My experience at St. David’s as a student has meant the world to me, and all of your love and friendship has sustained me during my time at Western. As my time in Cullowhee draws to a close, I would love you all to join me, my friends, and my family as we gather for a GRADUATION EUCHARIST at St. David's on Saturday, May 9 at 1:00 pm. Join me in giving thanks to God and praying for my next steps as I move on. I would love for all of you to be there!
