I was up at 4:30 this morning and on the track by 5:00 a.m. Five miles and 10,000 steps later, I’m feeling grateful, energized, and encouraged!

Sometimes the hardest step is simply getting started. But once you move, momentum takes over. Every lap was a reminder that progress does not always come in giant leaps—sometimes it comes one determined step at a time.

There will be no Prayer Meeting or Bible Study tonight, so take some time to rest, recharge, and enjoy your evening. God has given us another day, another opportunity, and another reason to keep moving forward.

Start early. Stay focused. Keep stepping. The best is still ahead! 💪🏾🙏🏾

Yesterday we were reminded that Luke 15 is not just about a rebellious son. It is about a loving Father, a lost child, and grace that keeps looking down the road.

The younger son went too far.
He spent too much.
He stayed too long.

But thank God, that is not where the story ended.

The Bible says, “And when he came to himself…” That one line is loaded with mercy. It means you can wake up. You can turn around. You can come home. You can recover what the far country tried to take from you.

Somebody needs to know this today: what is lost does not have to stay lost.

You may have gone further than you planned. You may have spent more than you intended. You may have stayed longer than you should have. But the Father is still watching. The Father is still waiting. The Father still knows how to restore.

This coming Sunday, we are staying in Luke 15 as we look at the son who stayed home. Because it is possible to be in the house and still be far from the heart of the Father. It is possible to be close in location but distant in spirit. The younger son was lost in the far country, but the older son was lost in the field, lost in resentment, lost in religion, and lost in his inability to rejoice over grace.

Then, on the third Sunday, we will turn our attention to the Father and talk about “The Kind of Father We Need.”

And don’t miss this Wednesday Night Bible Study. We will go deeper with “Grown Folk Business,” a needed conversation for parents, grandparents, mentors, and anybody who is learning how to love people with wisdom, boundaries, patience, and grace.

Join us Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom.

Dear Lake View Terrace Family,

One of the hardest things to do is love somebody you cannot control.

Many parents, grandparents, and caring adults know what it feels like to pray, worry, wait, and wonder. You raised them. You covered them. You taught them what you knew. But when children grow up, love has to learn a different rhythm. It cannot always hold their hand. Sometimes love has to release. Sometimes love has to wait. Sometimes love has to watch from the doorway with tears in its eyes and prayer in its heart.

That is why this Wednesday Night Zoom Prayer Meeting and Bible Study is so important.

Our lesson, “Grown Folk Business,” will walk us through Luke 15:11–24 and help us see the heart of the father in the story of the prodigal son. This is not just a lesson for parents of grown children. It is for grandparents, mentors, aunties, uncles, spiritual mothers and fathers, and anybody who has ever loved someone through a hard season.

We need this study because love without wisdom can become worry. Help without boundaries can become enabling. Correction without compassion can become condemnation. And waiting without faith can wear the soul down.

But Jesus shows us a better way.

In this lesson, we will talk honestly about how to love people without losing ourselves, how to keep the door open without chasing people into the far country, and how to trust God with those we cannot fix, force, or follow. There will be encouragement for tired hearts, insight for difficult relationships, and a safe space for honest conversation, prayer, and healing.

Come ready to pray. Come ready to listen. Come ready to be strengthened. Somebody needs this word. Somebody needs this wisdom. Somebody needs to be reminded that God is still working while we are still waiting.

Join us this Wednesday night. Let’s go deeper together.
