One of the questions I've found myself returning to over the past few years is surprisingly simple:
What story is shaping my life?
Not just the story I would say I believe, but the one that's quietly influencing my decisions, my relationships, my ambitions, and my hopes.
Those questions eventually became the foundation for The Stories We Live By. My hope isn't simply that readers will think more carefully about culture or ideas. It's that they'll discover how the story of Jesus doesn't merely compete with the stories surrounding us—it fulfills the deepest hopes that gave rise to them in the first place.
Every one of us is living from a story.
The question is whether that story is strong enough to carry us through both the beauty and the brokenness of life.
If those questions resonate with you, I hope you'll consider reading The Stories We Live By. More than anything, I hope it encourages you to see the gospel with fresh eyes.
