What if the thing you have been working so hard to build was never really the goal?

Last Sunday in Nehemiah 5, we looked at what happens when the biggest threat to God’s work is not opposition from the outside, but what is happening among God’s own people.

And this Sunday, we come to Nehemiah 8.

The wall is finished. The work is done. It looks like the story should be over.

But the wall was never the goal.

God was rebuilding a people.

Last Sunday was such a meaningful morning at Living Water.

We were grateful to have Providence Band lead us in a special time of bluegrass worship, and then we spent time in Nehemiah 4 being reminded that opposition does not mean God has stopped working.

When the pressure came, Nehemiah and the people prayed, remembered who God was, and got back to the work He had called them to do.

And then join us this Sunday as we continue into Nehemiah 5.

The wall is still going up. The work is still moving forward. But this time, the biggest problem isn’t coming from outside the community. Something has gotten out of alignment among God’s own people.

What happens when God’s work is moving forward, but He also wants to do some work within us?

We are so thankful for the way our Living Water family has already come alongside Brianna as she prepares to serve with YWAM in Mazatlán, Mexico!

So far, **about $2,000 has been raised** to help with flights, housing, food, and her DTS training. That is incredible. Thank you for loving Brianna well, praying for her, and helping send her into what God has called her to.

If you still want to support Brianna, **it’s not too late!** The graphic below includes two ways to give, including an option to give directly through YWAM.

And whether you’re able to give or not, please keep praying for Brianna as she prepares for the months ahead. We’re excited to see how God uses this season in her life!

What do you do when following God gets harder than you expected?

This Sunday we’re in Nehemiah 4, looking at how God’s people responded when opposition, criticism, and fear showed up.

We’re also excited to welcome the Providence Band as they help lead us in worship.

Come worship with us, open God’s Word with us, and be reminded that God is faithful even when the work in front of us isn’t easy.

This Sunday we have a great opportunity to come alongside Brianna as she prepares to spend five months serving and growing with YWAM in Mazatlán, Mexico!

Following the service on August 16, we’ll be having a bake sale to help raise support for her trip. Stop by, grab something good, and help send Brianna on mission!

We also need people willing to donate baked goods for the sale. If you’d like to help by baking something, please text or call Nelly at 608-977-2300.

We’re looking forward to being together tomorrow at Living Water.

Candace will be continuing our journey through Nehemiah, and if you have a few minutes before Sunday, I’d encourage you to read Nehemiah 2:1–20.

We’ll also get to hear from Steve Freitag as he shares about Cross Counsel and the ministry God is doing through them.

I’m grateful for our church family and always thankful for the chance to gather, worship, pray and open God’s Word together.

What a great week at Journey to the Jordan VBS! 💧

We’re incredibly thankful for Cheryl and the tremendous amount of work she put into leading this year’s VBS, as well as the many volunteers who jumped in wherever they were needed.

Throughout the week, 51 kids experienced Bible stories brought to life through skits, activities, music, and plenty of fun. And the parting of the Jordan River was pretty spectacular for the adults too!

Thank you to everyone who served throughout the week, stayed to help, and even came back Friday morning for cleanup. We’re grateful for a church family willing to give their time and energy to help kids encounter Jesus.
