What happens when trusting God means letting go?

It’s easy to say we trust God. It can be much harder when trusting Him means surrendering our plans, our expectations, or our need to control what happens next.

As we've closed out our Fool’s Gold series and prepare to journey through Romans, Pastor Jeff reflects on the subtle ways worldly wisdom can shape us, and why the Gospel invites us to something deeper than simply believing the right things.

Because the Gospel isn’t just something we believe. It’s meant to change the way we live.

From the moment someone walks through our doors to the ways we show up for our community, serving is about more than filling a role.

It’s about noticing people. Making room. Helping someone feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Because we believe church should be a place where you’re not just another face in the crowd, but rather you are known, valued, and reminded that there’s a place for you here.

What a day to celebrate! 🙌

Yesterday, we had the joy of celebrating baptisms and welcoming new members into the Church on the Hill family.

Every baptism tells a story of God’s grace at work. Every new member reminds us that faith was never meant to be lived alone. Together, we’re following Jesus, growing in community, and becoming the people God is calling us to be.

We’re grateful for every story, every next step, and every person God continues to bring into this church family.

There’s room for you here, too. 💛

We spend a lot of energy trying to hold everything together.

Our plans. Our families. Our futures. The things we can control, and the things we can’t.

But following Jesus was never about having everything figured out.

“The Christian life does not begin with ‘I’ve got this.’ It begins with ‘Christ has me.’”

There is freedom in knowing you don’t have to carry it all. You can trust the One who holds you.

What would it look like to loosen your grip and trust God with what you’re carrying today?

What if the questions you’re asking about life, faith, and your future aren’t questions you have to figure out alone?

This fall, we’re taking a journey through Romans and exploring some of life’s biggest questions—about what’s broken, whether people can really change, where we belong, and what grace has to do with all of it.

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, are just beginning to explore faith, or aren’t sure what you believe, there’s a place for you on the journey.
