What an incredible day at the William H. Plummer Plaza for the Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center’s inaugural Chef Talk & Taste – A Healthy Cooking Showcase!

This event wasn’t just a success — it set the bar high.

We’re excited to share that Chef Talk & Taste is an expansion of our Cross Nutrition Connection Program, continuing our mission to bring practical, accessible, and delicious wellness education to our senior community.

A heartfelt thank‑you to Ms. Woodley, WHPP Service Coordinator, for being open to the idea, and a huge shoutout to Chef Ed and Chef Jaylen of The Mod Olive for bringing this vision to life. Participants were treated to a Mediterranean feast that was nothing short of amazing — Salmon, Orzo Pasta with Feta, Fresh Salad, and homemade Tzatziki and Pita Bread.

Chef Ed didn’t just cook; he taught. He inspired participants with simple, realistic steps to recreate this hearty, healthy meal at home. The energy, the learning, and the sense of community made the day truly special.

Here’s to many more events that nourish both the body and the spirit!

Today was a BIG day for Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center! We joined Sentara for a wonderful ribbon‑cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of our new Food Locker, and our hearts are full. This partnership represents so much more than a new resource — it’s a commitment to expanding access, dignity, and hope for our neighbors in need.

We are deeply grateful to Sentara Obici Hospital for believing in our mission and to everyone who came out to celebrate this milestone with us. Together, we’re making a real impact in the Suffolk community.

💙 Deep Gratitude to the Sheriff’s Office! 💙

We are incredibly thankful to the Suffolk Virginia Sheriff's Office for hosting a food‑raising effort and donating 639 pounds of food to support our mission. Your commitment to serving this community goes far beyond your daily duties, and we are truly grateful.

Because of your generosity, families facing food insecurity will have access to the nourishment and hope they need. Acts like this remind us what’s possible when we come together with compassion and purpose.

To every deputy, staff member, and supporter who contributed — thank you for standing with us and helping bridge the service gap for our neighbors.

This past Saturday, Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center was honored to participate in the Keep Suffolk Beautiful Recycling Drive once again!

The community really poured out of their increase and excess to bless us with:

Clothes - 557lbs
Food - 311lbs
Bags - 60lbs
Toiletries - 64lbs

We appreciate the support of every neighbor who contributed to our Center during this event. Your kindness will help us to further assist our community!

On Tuesday, Ms. Rhonda Hance and Teresa Byrd from the Suffolk branch of the Virginia Department Of Agriculture And Consumer Services donated 103lbs of peanut butter to our Outreach Center on behalf of their team! We at SCFC thank you all for choosing us to benefit from your collection, and for your continued support of our mission!
