Welcome to Meditative Monday. During the month of June we ask, “who is my neighbor?” The answers may surprise us.

“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.”— Romans 12:9–10

Loving our neighbors does not require agreement on everything. It may require curiosity, humility, and the courage to remain human toward one another. Instead of one-upping each other in jealousy or spite, can we instead outdo one another in LOVE?

Can you think of someone you struggle to understand but are still called to treat with dignity?

Join us for Taize, a contemplative service of reflection, tonight and every Monday this summer at 7:30 pm.

As we observe Father's Day, we recognize that it can be a time of both joy and struggle. We pray that you experience the wide and spacious fatherly love of God in your life, and hold you in tender care if you are hurting. We celebrate fatherhood and express gratitude for all the fathers who've built meaning into our lives. 💙

June 21, 2026 Order of Worship
Fourth Sunday after Pentecost / Father’s Day
Welcome and Announcements
Prelude “Father, Son” Gabriel
Carl Fernstrum, solo
*Call to Worship
Leader: Father God, you desire no less than all of us. Though we try to hold back bits
and pieces of ourselves, your grace invites us into full and joyful surrender.
People: Holy Spirit, help us open up to Jesus!
Leader: Father God, though we are called to be holy, you are also so gentle with us as
we walk this road toward perfection. Your grace invites us to keep going, even
when we stumble.
People: Holy Spirit, help us to lean upon Jesus!
Leader: Father God, we are yet works in progress, but we are your children. May we,
today and every day, receive your gracious love and channel it back out of us in
both praise and service.
People: Holy Spirit, help us to love and be loved by Jesus!
All: Amen!
*Opening Hymn “I Sing the Almighty Power of God” UMH # 152
*Unison Prayer
Lord, you are a good, good Father. Your identity is nothing less than the One who
cares for us, guides us, and holds us close. On this day when we reflect upon our
earthly fathers, may we remember the constancy of your presence and the purity of
your love. Give us eyes to see your reflection in our fathers and father figures
where it exists, and give us grace to turn into the comfort of your chest and the
safety of your embrace when there is a disconnect between your perfect reality and
our broken one. We thank you, Lord, for those who have gone before us and we
pray that we may walk in the good, good footsteps that you have left for us to follow.
Amen.
*Gloria Patri UMH # 70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the
beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
Time of Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us
our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory forever. Amen.
