Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Rev. Joan Beckett-Armstrong to Ascension. Her sermon focused on what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves. It is important we take care of ourselves for by doing so, we acknowledge the value given to everyone by God. All have different God given gifts to be shared as we love our neighbors as ourselves. Treat all with respect and love. We look forward to her return on Sunday, October 4th.
When you join us to hear her message, plan to stay for our annual pancake breakfast after the service.

Today's sermon by Rev. Lobb focused on the parable about the seeds growth in various locations. You know the one, some didn't grow, some grew quickly and died without the support of good roots, others struggled to grow and those in good soil flourished. If you are looking for a place to grow your faith, Ascension has deep roots and is filled with a supportive congregation. Join us.

We so enjoyed Bishop Carrie Schofield-Broadbent's visit on Mother's Day. She showed her love of God throughout her stay especially during her sermon, interactions with the congregation, and the blessing of our rejuvenated Memorial Garden. It was a treat to share food and fellowship after the service and even had a cardinal come knocking at the parish hall window.

With tomorrow being Mother's Day, many will celebrate the women in their lives. How will you celebrate? Maybe sit quietly next to her in a pew thanking God for bringing her into your life. Maybe visit her final resting place or a memorial garden and cherish sweet memories. Maybe joining family and friends to share and create treasured times.
We will be doing the same at Ascension tomorrow. Please join us for our service at 9:30 and fellowship during coffee hour afterward.
