“When we treat the stranger as someone who does not bear the face of God to us - someone without humanity, without their own story, language and traditions - we ignore [the biblical] challenge. Instead of seeing them as bearing the face of God, we see them as the face of fear.” Take part in the webinar ”Engaging as People of Faith Amid the Rise in For-Profit Immigration Detention” on June 24 to learn more about this contemporary challenge and the resource quoted above, plus ways the church can respond. Prayer concern updates/ June 10th

~We just received news from Lorraine Dress, a former member of Rock of Ages, that she was informed by a family member earlier today that Sue Corkish has entered The Church Triumphant. Sue is the wife of ROA founding pastor, Bill Corkish. He passed away several years ago. We do not have any other additional information. Please remember the family in your thoughts and prayers.

~Additional new prayer concern: Tim Haxton (son of Pastor Cecie Haxton) has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is scheduled for surgery at Emory during the next day or two. Please keep him in your prayers.

We will keep you updated as we hear more from these families and everyone on our prayer list which is located on the last page of our Worship Bulletins each Sunday.

**JoAnne L expresses her gratitude to everyone at ROA for the love and prayers for her and her family after the death of her sister, Carolyn J

REMINDER:
The Funeral Service for Deacon Judy Knapp is THIS FRIDAY June 12th at 11am in our Sanctuary. Please make plans to attend to support her family, friends and former co-workers in the GA Prison System and others she impacted during her remarkable life. A catered reception for everyone will take place in our Fellowship Hall.

***PS: We are still in need of a couple people to help with the catered reception (take food from kitchen and set out on tables towards the end of the service and clean up reception afterwards. Please contact Lara if you can help. She is helping to coordinate the Service with pastors, Charles and the family.

Thank you to Rev. Jonathan Hemphill, Assistant to the Bishop for Congregational Life for leading our Worship Service this morning! We are very grateful to you for coming and for leading a Town Hall to explain the call process.
Please enjoy a few pictures from the Worship Service today including a Blessing of the undergarments. Our members donated approximately 350 pairs of mens and women’s underwear that will now be distributed when asked to our community. WOW! What a tremendous blessing this is for our neighbors in need. Thank you everyone for your support and contributions.

NEW DATE & TIME!!!

06/01/2026

At a time when houses of worship, food pantries, farmers, global partners and ELCA World Hunger affiliates are reporting alarming new rates of food requests in our communities, Congress should pass a comprehensive Farm Bill that promotes sustainable livelihoods for all. Visit the ELCA Action Center or go directly to the Action Alert linked in the comment below to take action and read more.
