Let us welcome Father and continue our prayers for our missionaries throughout the world. Fr. Mike
"The Diocese of Warangal was erected on December 22, 1952. Warangal diocese is mission Diocese situated in the Telangana State in South India, but more towards Central India. Most of our Catholics are very poor landless farm laborers. They are Dalits and Tribals and victims of thousands of years of oppression and discrimination in the form of caste system. Because of utter poverty they are not able to support the Pastoral needs of our Diocese. They look for some kind of assistance from the Diocese to make their lives better.
The Diocese of Warangal has undertaken several activities such as Education to the Orphans, Home for the Aged and elderly, Adults and children infected with HIV/AIDS, preaching and Healing ministry, Faith formation of the Youth, Media Ministry, and caring the Poorest of the poor.
Evangelization of Banjara/ Lambada - tribal Mission: Our diocese is very actively involved in reaching out to the unreached. They are animists — nature worshippers. It makes it easy to evangelize them.
Educational Apostolate: — A Special focus on Girl-Children: Our indirect Mission work consists especially by way of education of the rural poor children, with special focus on the education of the girl- children, and many other drop-outs from going to school due to many reasons.
Medical Supplies: The poor people in the missions do not have accessibility to the hospitals. They are affected by different diseases. They need to go to private sector of hospitals which would turn them down because of a lack of finance. Hence, we would like to provide basic minimum medical supplies to maintain good health.
Diocese of Warangal is a very poor mission, does not have any resources of its own to meet its necessary missionary and Pastoral needs. It depends on the ecclesial solidarity of Parishes like yours. Funds raised from MCP are directly used for evangelization and pastoral care only. We appeal to your generosity to continue these projects for the poor and needy people. Therefore, we humbly request you to be generous towards this cause. We look forward to coming to share our missions. Assuring you of our prayers.
Fr. Joji, Mission Co Ordinator."
