CRIME SCENE INTERECESSORS (CSI) - Wednesday, June 10, 2026 – Six people from two different churches gathered near 801 South Lincoln Street where a 43-year-old man was shot and killed on the nearby railroad tracks last Thursday afternoon, June 4th. This was the second killing of a homeless person in as many weeks. We grieved the loss of life here, of this man whom God created with plan and purpose. And we acknowledged that no one had the right to take his life. We prayed for his family and friends and that God would meet them in a deep and personal way as they grieve. We prayed for safety for the people who are just trying to get by and live their lives on this stretch of the railroad tracks. And we prayed for people to come forward who may have seen something…anything that would lead to the perpetrator coming to justice. We prayed for God’s transformation of this place and our city. As we closed our time of prayer, we shared in communion and asked for the Lord to break the curse over this land.

CRIME SCENE INTERCESSORS (CSI) - Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 - June 3rd – Five people from two different churches gathered at the North end of the railroad tracks at the 700 block of East Swain Rd., where a 46-year-old man was shot and killed last Saturday evening. The victim happened to be a homeless man who was well-known and loved in the community. We prayed for the victim’s family and friends, that God would meet them in those deep areas of grief in their hearts and bring about His peace and reconciliation where there may have been separation. We prayed for protection for the other homeless people that are living in this area. And for peace and security to be restored to the other neighbors whose yards, apartments and homes have fences that border this area. We prayed for justice to happen quickly, for the perpetrator to be apprehended and brought to justice soon. UPDATE: Two days after our Team prayed at this location, a suspect was arrested in relation to this homicide.
