With gratitude and excitement First Presbyterian Church welcomes the Rev. Will Myers and his family to Statesboro to begin his ministry as head of staff. Will previously served churches and ministries in New Jersey and most recently was the Westminster Chaplain for the Presbyterian Student Fellowship at West Virginia University for the past three years while also filling the pulpit as a supply minister in several churches in the region. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice from Wartburg College in Iowa and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey.
Integral to his ministry is his family. His wife Dr. Nimmi Myers is an epidemiologist with the CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). They are parents of two young boys Billy and Mathan.
In addition to his preaching skills, Will's broad experience working in refugee resettlement, food ministries, and with college students, as well as his deep faith and desire to engage thoughtfully in discussion, stood out to the Pastor Nominating Committee during multiple conversations. As a congregation engaged cooperatively throughout the Statesboro community in a variety of ways we welcome Will as he serves alongside and shepherds us as we deepen our engagement in living out our call to be the hands and feet of God in our surroundings.
Join us on September 13 for worship at 11am and stay afterwards for a welcome lunch!
