50 YEARS • WHERE THE STORY TOOK ROOT

Long before Tahoe Community Church became what many of us know today, people were gathering in simple spaces around Scripture, prayer, and fellowship.

As we prepare to celebrate 50 years on October 24, we’re going back through the archives—not just to remember where we met, but to remember what God builds through ordinary people who faithfully gather.

These photos preserve moments when people were entrusted with leadership, prayed over, and called to serve the church.

Some ministries happen from a pulpit. Others happen in a conversation, a prayer meeting, a hospital room, a Bible study, or years of quiet faithfulness that few people ever see.

As we approach Tahoe Community Church’s 50th anniversary, we thank God for the many people who have carried that work from one generation to the next.

One of the gifts of looking back is remembering that every season of a church has people who step forward to serve.

This 1990 newspaper clipping records a new associate pastor joining what was then Tahoe Douglas Community Baptist Church. Alongside portraits preserved in our archives, it gives us a glimpse into another chapter of the same church family we know today.

Ministry changes across the years. The calling to teach God’s Word, care for people, and make disciples does not.

A simple way to begin Sunday together: prayer.

Tahoe Community Church’s Sunday Prayer Meeting is from 8:30–9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Come pray with us before Adult Sunday School and worship. You’re welcome whether this is your first Sunday or you’ve been coming for years.
