Jesus Was Dedicated | Luke 2:21-39

Simeon and Anna worshiped Jesus as the Messiah who God promised to save people from their sins. By trusting in Jesus, we can be saved from our sins and, like Simeon and Anna, praise God for His salvation.

Take a flower arrangement to a senior adult. Write the words of 2 Corinthians 1:20 on a tag and attach it to the bouquet. If possible, ask them to share how they have seen God’s faithfulness in their life. Remind kids that God always keeps His promises!

Volunteer Spotlight: Katie Brown

Katie Brown has been faithfully serving in our Preschool and Children’s Ministry for the past 5 years here at FBC Starkville! Over the years, she has served during the worship hour, taught 3rd Grade Community Group, and helped lead Bible Drill.

Katie shared that her favorite thing about serving is seeing the smiles on kids’ faces as they learn about Jesus. There is nothing sweeter than watching the joy and wonder kids have as they grow in their faith.

Fun fact: Katie attended the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta! 🏅

We are so thankful for Katie and the many ways she invests in the next generation. Thank you, Katie, for serving our kids and families so faithfully! 💛

Meet the Team: Abigail Maddox

We’re excited to introduce Abigail Maddox, one of our Preschool Ministry interns! Abigail is a senior at Mississippi State studying Secondary Education and is currently student teaching at The Partnership.

She has been serving in our Preschool Ministry since September 2023, and we are so thankful for the joy, care, and encouragement she brings to our preschoolers each week. Abigail does a wonderful job helping create a safe, fun, and loving environment where our youngest kids can begin learning about Jesus.

Fun news: Abigail is engaged to Jon and will be getting married this summer! We are so excited for this sweet season in her life.

If you see Abigail in the preschool area, be sure to say hello and thank her for the way she serves our little ones! 💛

Jesus Was Born | Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-56; 2:1-20

Matthew and Luke show us that Jesus’ birth was the fulfillment of God’s promise to send a Savior. Long before Bethlehem, God had a plan to redeem His people — and He carried it out in the most unexpected way.
From a virgin birth to a manger bed, this humble King surprised everyone. Yet every detail — even the decree of Caesar and the crowded inn — was part of God’s perfect plan. Prophets like Isaiah and Micah had foretold it, and God proved faithful.
As your children hear this story, pray they would trust in the Savior who was born to bring us eternal life. 💛

Family Activity: If available, look at childhood photos or videos of each family member. Share stories of joy and excitement that came with each child coming into the family. Tell each child how much of a blessing they are to your family. Remind kids that Jesus’ birth is good news because Jesus is the promised Savior who came to rescue us from sin and death.

Calling all 1st–3rd graders! 🎉
Children’s Church happens during the 8:30 AM service, and we would love to see your kids there! It’s a fun, engaging time where they’ll learn from God’s Word in a space designed just for them.
It’s a great opportunity for them to grow in their faith, build friendships, and experience church in a way they can understand and enjoy.
We can’t wait to worship and learn together! 💛

Meet the Team: Josh Cagle
We’re excited to introduce Josh Cagle, one of our amazing Preschool Ministry Interns! Josh is a senior at Mississippi State studying Communication and is also part of the Inklings Literary Group on campus.

He has been serving in our Preschool Ministry for the past two years, and we are so thankful for the steady, joyful presence he brings each week. Josh loves helping create a fun and welcoming space where our youngest kids can begin learning about Jesus.

Fun fact: Josh hates crawfish — which might be a bold thing to admit in Mississippi!

If you see Josh in the preschool area, be sure to say hello and thank him for the way he serves our little ones! 💛

Parents, we have a special Easter resource just for you. 🤍
Starting March 8, you can pick up a Holy Week Family Devotional at check-in! This simple guide is designed to help your family walk through the final week of Jesus’ life together — with short readings, Scripture, and meaningful conversation starters you can use at home.
Holy Week is such a powerful opportunity to slow down, reflect, and center our hearts on the hope of the resurrection. We would love for every Stark Kids family to have one.
Be sure to grab your copy at check-in beginning March 8 while supplies last. Let’s prepare our hearts for Easter together. 🌿✝️

Meet the Team: Kayli Walker

We’re excited to introduce Kayli Walker, our Children’s Ministry Intern! Kayli has been serving as our intern since January 2025. She graduated from Mississippi State in December and is currently teaching 5th grade science and social studies. Her love for kids and passion for helping them learn makes her such a gift to our ministry.

Kayli brings great energy, creativity, and a heart for pointing kids to Jesus. Whether she’s helping on Wednesday nights, supporting events, or encouraging kids along the way, we are so thankful for the way she serves our families.

One thing you might notice about Kayli—she loves when she matches outfits with the kids! It’s one of her favorite little ways to connect and have fun with them.

If you see Kayli around Stark Kids, be sure to say hello! 💛

Last weekend at Missions Blitz was a powerful reminder that God is at work all over the world — and that our kids can be part of it right now. 🌍

Our 1st–6th graders learned about what God is doing in Norwich, UK, Uganda, Laos, Oregon, Paris, and Cambodia. They heard stories of missionaries faithfully sharing the gospel, planting churches, and loving people in Jesus’ name.

We also talked about the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and how giving supports missionaries across North America who are taking the gospel to communities that need hope.

It was a full day of learning, serving, praying, and discovering that no matter our age, we are called to live sent.

Pray that the seeds planted in these young hearts will grow into a lifelong passion for the nations. 💛
