Bringing God to the world. 🙏🏻🌎🤲
Yesterday, the Cadott Police Department implemented a Chaplain Program in agreement with the Village churches. The approved Police Department Chaplains are:
-Pastor Robert Hopkins (St. John’s Lutheran Church)
-Father William Felix (St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church)
-Pastor Cheryl Miskimem (Cadott United Methodist Church).
So, what exactly is the purpose of implementing a Chaplain Program, you ask???
Chaplains are non-sworn staff members of the department and can be called on by PD staff to assist them and members of the public with the following (including, but not restricted to):
-Death notifications (natural, su***des, homicides, accidents)
-Providing pastoral care when requested
-Providing assistance to crime or accident victims and their families
-Assist alcoholics or drug addicts in obtaining services
-Directing persons in need of shelter, food, or medical services to an agency that can help
-Providing assistance to persons who are confused or emotionally upset or potential su***de victims
-Someone who simply wants to talk over their problems
-Assisting law enforcement or the people they come into contact with in any other function of their ministerial profession, as requested
The Chaplains are willing to donate their time to assist the community and the Police Department. We are grateful and proud for their partnership and assistance!
