Sunday Sermon Recap | Trust Him and Let Him Lead | Pastor Matt Caton

Sunday was a special day as we honored our graduates and were reminded that life brings many new beginnings, but we do not have to walk into them alone.

From Abraham’s story in Genesis 12, we were reminded that God often calls us beyond what is comfortable and familiar. Abraham did not have a map. He did not have every detail figured out. He simply had God’s promise.

The same is true for us.

Whether you are graduating, starting something new, facing a big decision, or stepping into an uncertain season, God is not asking you to know every step ahead. He is asking you to trust Him with the next one.

We were also reminded through Lot’s choices in Genesis 13 that not every good-looking opportunity is God’s best. Direction matters. Every decision we make has the potential to lead us closer to God or farther away from Him.

When making decisions, we were encouraged to:

📖 Consult Scripture
🙏 Pray for wisdom
👥 Seek godly counsel
🕊️ Wait for God’s peace

Most importantly, seek God first.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 KJV

Congratulations to all of our graduates! As you step into what is next, remember: God has already gone before you.

You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you can know the One who holds tomorrow.

Trust Him and let Him lead.

Last night, Pastor Matt reminded us that salvation is not Jesus plus anything.

Not Jesus plus works.
Not Jesus plus religion.
Not Jesus plus keeping the law.

Just Jesus.

Paul reminded the Galatians that the law could show them their sin, but it could not save them from it. Only Christ could do that.

📖 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…” — Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

But Pastor Matt also reminded us that freedom in Christ is not a license to sin.

Grace is not permission to go back to the old life.
Conviction is not God pushing us away.
It is the Holy Spirit drawing us back.

📖 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16 (KJV)

The question Pastor Matt left us with was simple:

What are you feeding?

Are you feeding the flesh?
Or are you feeding the Spirit?

Because what we feed will grow.

Don’t go back to what Jesus already brought you out of.

Stand fast.
Walk in the Spirit.
Stay close to the cross. ✝️
