UP-LIGHT 💛 Mark & Krista!

Mark is one of those people who might be a little quiet when you first meet him, but he’s so easy to talk to. You’ll also find him jumping in to help with set up and tear down, always willing to lend a hand!

And Krista… watching what God has been doing in her life has been such a beautiful thing. ❤️ Despite the pain of the losses she’s endured, she’s learning that it’s okay to still have joy even when you’re hurting and healing isn’t complete. Pain doesn’t mean joy has to disappear, and her story is such a beautiful reminder of that.

During our Unmasked Women’s Retreat, Krista rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized in the lake. Since then, we’ve seen God continue to work in her heart in so many ways. She even felt led to open her home and lead a women’s Bible study, which was way outside her comfort zone! But look what God can do when we simply say yes to Him. Lives are being changed because of her obedience!

Krista is also so faithful in Kids Ministry, loving on our kids and babies, and it’s so clear how much these two love their boys. Their family is such a blessing to our UP family!

Mark and Krista, we love y’all and your sweet family so much. We’re thankful for the ways you serve, the ways you love people, and the work God is doing in and through you. You make UP better, and we’re so glad you’re part of this family! 💛

Pastor B was out here taking hit after hit with absolute patience—asking if he’d work more than one day a week, if he had a "real job", or if he were actually a good preacher! That leadership answer at the end had us all rolling, too! 🎬
Huge thanks to Buddy for bringing the Word today from the book of James! Such a powerful reminder of the importance of being slow to speak and quick to listen so we don’t let anger take over. What a great message (and an unforgettable illustration)! 🙌

🍬🎃 LAST SUNDAY TO BRING ITEMS! 🎃🍬

We’re getting ready for the fall festival and could use your help! If you’re planning to bring little toys, stickers, candy, or other fun goodies for us to pass out, this Sunday is the LAST day to bring them!

Just a little reminder to keep everything kid-friendly and fun! Nothing scary or evil themed. 💛

Thank y’all for always showing up and helping us love on our community. We can’t wait to see what God does through something as simple as a little treat and a whole lot of love! 🖤💛

And our Men’s Ministry Director, Buddy Smith, kicks things off with “Slow Down and Listen,” challenging us to listen more, react less, and let our faith shape our response in a culture fueled by rage bait and gaslighting.

This past Sunday was one to remember. 🖤💛

Three people took that step of obedience and went public with their faith through baptism, and goodness, what a beautiful thing to witness.

Kendall has walked through more than anyone her age should ever have to face, but through it all, God has been faithful. Her story is such a reminder that even in the hardest seasons, God is still there, still working, and still writing a story that isn't finished yet. 💛

And then there’s Ben and Terry, whose stories are connected in the sweetest way. Neither of them knew it at the time, but they both gave their lives to Jesus just FOUR hours apart on the very same day. 🥹

Only God can write a story like that!

💛 UP-LIGHT: Chuck & Alison

Some people come into your life and you just know God had a hand in it. That’s Chuck and Alison. Their story of how they came to UP is a beautiful testimony, and honestly, they’re still living it!

These two drive almost 50 minutes EVERY SINGLE WEEK to be with their UP family, not to mention all the events, Bible studies, and everything else they show up for. They’ve always looked for ways to jump in and help, and they do just that! From set up and tear down to serving in Kids Ministry, they’re always willing to do whatever needs to be done. And the love they have for the kids at UP is so special. We truly can’t imagine it without them!

One of the sweetest things has been watching God move in Chuck’s life, growing him and molding him into the man of God he was always created to be. Getting to witness that has been such a beautiful thing.

And Alison… if you’ve spent any time around the ladies at UP, chances are you’ve heard how she’s impacted someone’s life. She’s been open about some of the struggles she’s walked through, but she’s a fighter. She’s strong, and she carries a light that reaches people in ways she may not even realize. Alison, you are loved, you are worthy, and you are enough. ❤️

Both of them have walked through hard things in their past, but those things don't define who they are today. They are surrounded by a family who loves them, who will stand beside them, and who will show up for them just like we know they would for us.

And let's not forget these two met later in life and, if you ask them, they're still living in their honeymoon days! ❤️ You’ll almost always find them smiling on a Sunday, and if Chuck hasn't made you laugh yet, just give him a minute!

Chuck and Alison, we are SO thankful God brought y’all into our UP family. We love you both, and we hope you know just how much you mean to us! 💛
