What is Unity? Unity is a positive, practical, approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer.

When you step through our doors you will find a nurturing environment for you to heal, to grow spiritually, and to discover the unique ways that you are called to be the expression of God. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual's right to choose a spiritual path. Unity's 5 Principles

God Is


God is absolute good and everywhere present; therefore there can be no opposing power. I Am
Human beings are created with an inherent divinity referred to as Christ consciousness. Our very essence is of God, and we are, therefore, inherently good and always connected. I Create it
As human beings, we create our own experience through the activity of our thoughts. We formulate our perceptions and choose our responses. I Pray
Through prayer and meditation, we create an intimate relationship with God. This heightened connection with God-Mind brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and all our good. Prayer does not change God; it changes us. I Live it
Knowing and understanding the laws of these Universal Truth Principles are not enough, we must also live the Truth as we understand it.

This Tuesday those of us in our community who have been studying the Bhagavad Gita for three years are at last finishing the book and its lessons. On Sunday at 10:30, I will share one of the core teachings from the Bhagavad Gita and the relationship it has to our living a peaceful, fulfilled life.

What exactly is dharma? The Indian culture speaks of dharma and defines it as being in total alignment with your higher self and living and practicing what your Higher Self guides you to do.

Dharma brings equanimity, purity, sincerity, togetherness, unity. It is the ultimate art of living. Going against one's dharma, plants seeds that we will pay for at some point. I have so many examples of things I did in my 20's that I am paying for now! Together on Sunday, we will explore the concept of dharma and discover the power it can have in your life.

Perhaps you've heard about the ancient shepherd Moses who came upon a bush that was burning, but not consumed by the fire. And when Moses stepped closer, he heard the voice of God telling him to remove his sandals, for he was standing on holy ground.

This unexpected encounter not only changed Moses' life, but the lives of countless thousands of other Israelites whose lives had been abused by a powerful autocrat. It's a very long story that covered many years and lots of traveling. (I'm going to give you a miniature summary of that.)

Maybe you can look back into your life and find a thread that appeared and disappeared and reappeared; and maybe it helps you understand how you became the person you are today.
Since we're together as a group of spiritually-minded folks who trust that Holiness, in whatever form, helps us and guides us, let's explore how our own highways and byways, however convoluted they might be, help us discover our own holiness. For the truth is, we're all standing on holy ground, whether we realize it or not.
