When God calls, will you obey—even in the middle of the night?

Joseph’s story in Matthew 2:13-23 challenges us with radical obedience. When an angel warned him to flee to Egypt, he didn’t hesitate, question, or delay. He rose that very night and protected his family from Herod’s evil plot. Three times God spoke through dreams, and three times Joseph obeyed without reservation.

We live in a world where evil is real, but God’s protection is greater. Like Joseph, we’re called to trust God’s timing—even when it disrupts our plans. Jesus didn’t come for Herod’s throne; He came for Herod’s heart. He comes for your heart too.

The question isn’t whether challenges will come, but which king will rule your life? Will you submit to the King of Kings, trusting His perfect timing and faithful provision? God provides for His people. Walk in obedience, and watch Him work.

What consumes you is what you worship.

This week we journeyed with the wise men who traveled great distances, leaving comfort and familiarity behind to seek the newborn King. These foreigners didn’t just have knowledge about the Messiah—they had faith that moved them to action. They fell down in worship, offering their treasures to Jesus.

Meanwhile, King Herod heard the same news but responded with terror and deceit, consumed by protecting his power rather than worshiping the true King.

The question for us today: Are we like the chief priests and scribes who had all the knowledge but lacked the faith to seek Him? Or are we like the wise men, continuously pursuing Jesus with exceedingly great joy?

May we never stop seeking Christ, not because we can’t find Him, but because we want to reflect Him more and more in our lives. He alone is worthy of our worship—King of kings and Lord of lords.
