A church that refuses to change will eventually die.

Change is not a dirty word.

Some change is necessary, as long as you don’t change the vital doctrines of the Faith.

“I don’t want a large church…I want it to stay small because we know everybody.”

I understand the statement. Knowing people is a beautiful thing.

But let’s be honest, that statement isn’t about the lost.

It’s about us.

It’s about our comfort. Our familiarity.
Our pew.
Our preferences.

The Great Commission was never, “Go ye therefore into all the world and keep things the way you like them.”

Somebody changed so you could hear the Gospel.

Somebody built a building you didn’t pay for.

Somebody sat next to a stranger so there’d be room for you.

If heaven is going to be filled with every tribe, every tongue, and every nation…why are we fighting so hard to keep our church looking exactly like us?

Hi everyone,
