Followers Church Bringing glory to God and to make Him known. Service is at 9:30am on Sunday mornings Why the name Followers Church?

Originally, Christians were first referred to as, “followers of the way.” This alluded to a way of living that Jesus and His followers had become known for, a way of living that actually helped people learn about God, or find Him, while demonstrating how to follow Him. That’s what we want to be known for at Followers Church. Over everything else, we want to be known as followers of Jesus by the way we live our lives, and in doing so, help others find and follow Jesus.

Many are aware of Jesus’ famous play on words, when He said to the disciples that He would teach them how to fish for men. And when it comes to fishing for men (or for fish), having good equipment will drastically impact our catch rate. And from a figurative standpoint, knowing what the Bible truly says, or how to interpret the Scriptures correctly, is the best spiritual fishing equipment we could ever have.

It’s clear to see how deeply Paul cared for the Corinthian church, but also for many other churches throughout the Greco-Roman Empire, in spite of the dangers. And he wanted the Corinthians to emulate him and others, including Timothy and Apollos, who also cared deeply for them, so that each person would grow to realize their part in the body, but also in a much larger family.
