This Sunday, we were reminded that God is with His people in the fire. Through Daniel 3, we saw the faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who chose to stand when everyone else bowed, trusting the Lord no matter the outcome.

We also had the privilege of praying over and sending Pastor Carlos, Belinda, and their family as they step into a new season of ministry, leading another congregation. While goodbyes are never easy, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and the way He continues to build His Kingdom through His people.

May we be a church that stands firm, trusts deeply, and follows wherever God leads. As our series reminds us, The Place to Be is where God rules and His people stand.

Thank you, Pastor Carlos and Belinda, for your faithful service, your love for Jesus, and your love for His people. We are praying for you and excited to see how God will use you in this next chapter.

Tomorrow! | Lazy 5 Regional Park | 12:00 PM

Celebrate the start of summer with us at Lazy 5 Park!
Join us tomorrow for our annual Church BBQ as we gather for food, games, and fellowship.

We’ll provide the hamburgers and hot dogs—bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Of course, we’ll be hosting a co****le tournament! Sign up with a partner when you arrive.

We’ll also have a raffle fundraiser to help support our students’ camp expenses. Be sure to bring cash for a chance to win some awesome prizes!

We encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and sunshades if you’d like a little extra comfort.

This last Sunday, we were reminded that if we’re going to be In the City, for the City, we need the wisdom of God. Like Daniel, we are called to stand faithful where God has placed us, seeking the good of our city and pointing people to Him.

Daniel didn’t do it alone. He turned to faithful friends to pray and seek God’s wisdom together. Standing firm is hard, but God has given us community so we don’t have to do it alone.

Daniel needed wisdom to stand before the king. We need wisdom to stand in our city.

To be “In the City, for the City” means we don’t run from the places God has planted us. We stand faithful in them. We love our city enough to live differently inside of it, pointing people to the goodness of God through both our words and our lives.

And there are only two places to get the wisdom of God: The Word of God and prayer.

Christians were never called to run from broken places.
Daniel didn’t spend his life trying to escape Babylon. He learned how to stand faithful in it.
We are called to do the same.
“In the City, for the City” means we don’t just complain about where we live. We love it. We pray for it. We serve it.

The Place to Be: Where God Rules and His People Stand
You may not want the place you’re standing in right now, but God has not left you there alone.
Daniel 1 reminds us to stand when every part of us wants to run, shrink back, or get comfortable instead. Some of you feel wobbly-legged today, but God is ruling over all things. You are not outside of His rule.
So stand in faith, knowing He is in control.

5/17 | Week 1 of “The Place to Be.”
A church standing. Bibles open to Daniel, hands raised in worship, prayers over one another, families holding each other close, and people from every story gathering around Jesus.
This week reminded us that even when life feels like a place we never would have chosen, we are not outside God’s rule. “This is the place to be.”
