Thank you for joining us this Father’s Day as we continued our series, The Place to Be through Daniel.

This week, Elder in Training Andy Musick shared about the recent loss of his home and the weight of walking through that kind of trial. Yet even in the midst of hardship, he stands firm, knowing that while possessions can be lost, no one can take away the testimony of Christ’s redemption in his life.

Daniel demonstrated this truth in Daniel 6. Through faithful service to the king and the kingdom, he was ultimately building a testimony to the King of Kings. His life reminds us that our greatest legacy is not what we accumulate, but the faithfulness we demonstrate and the God we point others toward.

A special thank you to the fathers and father figures who faithfully serve their families, our church, and our community. Your steady presence, sacrificial love, and commitment to Christ leave an impact that reaches far beyond what can be seen.

What a gift it is to gather together, worship together, and be reminded that God is at work in every season, writing stories of redemption that no circumstance can erase.

The difference is not that we’re better. The difference is Jesus.

Repentance isn’t just confessing sin. It’s turning to Christ and being changed by His Spirit.

That is the hope of the gospel. That is our only hope.

This Sunday, we were reminded through Daniel 4 that God is sovereign, gracious, and able to humble even the proudest heart.

King Nebuchadnezzar looked at everything he had built and said, “Look at what I’ve done.” But God, in His mercy, showed him that every kingdom, every blessing, and every breath ultimately belongs to Him. When Nebuchadnezzar finally lifted his eyes to heaven, his reason was restored and his response became worship.

What a gift it is to walk through these truths together as a church family. We gather not because we have it all figured out, but because we need one another to continually point our eyes back to Christ through worship, prayer, Scripture, and community.

Thankful for another Sunday spent growing together, encouraging one another, and lifting our eyes to the One who reigns over all. The Most High rules, and He is faithfully at work in His people.

It is not a message we love, but it is the message we need.
Faith was never meant to be comfortable. The world does not see the greatness of Christ when everything is easy. It sees Him when His people stand firm in the fire.
Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, may we be able to say, “Our God can save us, but even if He does not, we will not bow.”
May God give us a faith that is real, steadfast, and anchored in His eternal Kingdom, not in comfort, safety, or the things of this world. Everything else will fade, but He remains the same.

This Sunday, we were reminded that God is with His people in the fire. Through Daniel 3, we saw the faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who chose to stand when everyone else bowed, trusting the Lord no matter the outcome.

We also had the privilege of praying over and sending Pastor Carlos, Belinda, and their family as they step into a new season of ministry, leading another congregation. While goodbyes are never easy, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and the way He continues to build His Kingdom through His people.

May we be a church that stands firm, trusts deeply, and follows wherever God leads. As our series reminds us, The Place to Be is where God rules and His people stand.

Thank you, Pastor Carlos and Belinda, for your faithful service, your love for Jesus, and your love for His people. We are praying for you and excited to see how God will use you in this next chapter.

Celebrate the start of summer with us at Lazy 5 Park!
Join us tomorrow for our annual Church BBQ as we gather for food, games, and fellowship.

We’ll provide the hamburgers and hot dogs—bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Of course, we’ll be hosting a co****le tournament! Sign up with a partner when you arrive.

We’ll also have a raffle fundraiser to help support our students’ camp expenses. Be sure to bring cash for a chance to win some awesome prizes!

We encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and sunshades if you’d like a little extra comfort.

This last Sunday, we were reminded that if we’re going to be In the City, for the City, we need the wisdom of God. Like Daniel, we are called to stand faithful where God has placed us, seeking the good of our city and pointing people to Him.

Daniel didn’t do it alone. He turned to faithful friends to pray and seek God’s wisdom together. Standing firm is hard, but God has given us community so we don’t have to do it alone.

Join us this summer as we journey through Daniel: The Place to Be — Where God Rules and His People Stand.
