We all need a hope story. But in Christ, our hope isn’t wishful thinking. It’s a promise secured by God, given as a gift, and sealed by the Holy Spirit.

And praise God, we don’t have to live out that hope alone. We have a church family to worship, grow, and walk through this life with.

Don’t waste your life chasing a hope that can’t hold you. Live in the hope you’ve already been given.

What makes you rich?

We can spend our lives chasing money, success, attention, security, and experiences, while missing the riches we already have in Christ. Paul reminds us that God has “lavished upon us” the riches of His grace. He isn’t rationing mercy or giving grace by the drop. He has given us more than we could ever earn or deserve.

Don’t waste your life pursuing pennies when the riches of the gospel have already been lavished upon you.
You are in Christ. You are rich.

We gathered this Sunday to worship, open God’s Word, and remember the incredible blessings we have in Christ. Ephesians 1:3–6 reminds us that God has chosen us, adopted us, and blessed us by grace.
From worship to the Word to the conversations in between, we’re grateful for the gift of doing this life together as the church. See you next Sunday!

Ephesians 1:1-2 tells us we are “in Christ,” and God’s disposition toward us is grace and peace. But what happens when we actually receive that grace and peace? We go to war with anything that is disloyal to Christ.

In Acts 19, people who encountered the gospel brought their expensive sorcery books together and burned them. The cost was significant, but grace and peace changed what they were willing to hold onto.

And the same is true for us. We must be willing to surrender anything that competes with Christ. Whether it is money, approval, achievement, control, image, comfort, addiction, bitterness, or anything else to which we give the worship, trust, affection, or allegiance that belongs to God.

We started a new series this Sunday: Don’t Waste Your Life: A Study in Ephesians. And we’re taking our time, studying Ephesians a few verses at a time and slowing down enough to really see what Paul is saying to the church and what it means for us as the body of Christ.

We’re going to spend the next nine months in this book, remembering that we are not defined by the dumpster fires of our past. In Christ, we have been made new. Our old address doesn’t define us anymore. We belong to Christ, and we’re learning what it looks like to live like it.

“This Is Us,” our core values series, may be coming to a close, but the ways we’ve been realigned with who God has called us to be don’t end here.

We’re still a church that worships together, grows together, lives out our core values, and points people to Jesus.

And now, we’re diving into Ephesians. Join us for a new series starting THIS Sunday!

This is us. And this is just the beginning.

This city is not our forever home.

But while we’re here, we have a purpose. We are called to seek the good of our city, love our neighbors, serve the people around us, and point them toward the city that is to come.

As we wrapped up our This Is Us: Core Values, we were reminded that being “In the City for the City” is more than serving our community. It’s living on mission and looking for opportunities to love the people God has placed around us.

So here’s our calling: look around and notice the people God has placed in your life. Who might need encouragement, a helping hand, a conversation, or an invitation to take a step toward Jesus? Find one way this week to be present and serve someone well, whether that means praying for a neighbor, meeting a practical need, starting a conversation, or inviting someone to church.

Because it all comes back to why we’re here:
Helping everyone find everything in Jesus.
