Starting Over with Hope
Lamentations 3:19-26
Even in the book of Lamentations—literally "funeral songs"—hope breaks through. Jeremiah recalls his affliction, yet chooses to remember God's faithfulness: "His mercies are new every morning." Like Thomas Edison watching his life's work burn, declaring he'd start over tomorrow, we serve a God of new beginnings. But our hope surpasses Edison's—we have a Savior who walked out of the tomb. Every mistake, every failure, every loss can become ash from which God brings new life. Today is a new morning. God's mercies are fresh for you right now. What needs to burn away so you can start building again? What resurrection is God preparing in your life? Remember: our hope isn't in our buildings, our achievements, or our past successes. Our hope is in the One who makes all things new.
