This past week, we joyfully welcomed four students to the 2026–2027 Music Residency Program here at St. Tikhon’s Monastery!

Those joining us from a distance moved in early in the week and had a few days to explore the monastery and seminary grounds, attend daily services, and begin getting to know the community.

All of our residents came together Thursday evening for our first mixed choir rehearsal of the academic year, followed by orientation on Friday morning. On Sunday morning, the residents sang for the Divine Liturgy, and Sunday afternoon brought everyone together once again as music program faculty and staff, residents, class auditors, and their families gathered at the Woodill home for good food, plenty of laughter, and wonderful fellowship. It was the perfect way to cap off a great week!

We are so excited for the next nine months of praying, singing, and learning together—and, undoubtedly, making some great memories along the way!

Our first workshop of the fall, taking place here at St. Tikhon's from September 25-27, is almost at capacity!

If you are a new choir director, assistant choir director, or someone who wants explore this ministry more, this is a great opportunity to learn fundamental skills and build a solid foundation. We will explore basic conducting, giving pitches, and share resources for preparing services.
