This week we are reading from Ecclesiastes 10:16-11:6.

We will also be doing a "Blessing of the Backpacks" during the children's sermon portion of our service. You can bring your backpack, bag, briefcase, etc. All ages are welcome to join.

Join us on Sunday, September 13 for a picnic to welcome newcomers and all the "regulars" back after the summer!

The picnic will be on the church grounds: Outside if weather permits, inside if it's rainy. It will start shortly after our morning service, sometime between 11:45am and noon.

The main dish will be provided (hot dogs and hamburgers) and the sides and desserts are potluck. Don’t have a dish to bring? No problem! You are warmly welcome to join us, with or without a contribution.

This week we will be reading from Matthew 17:24-27:

When they reached Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the temple tax?” He said, “Yes, he does.” And when he came home, Jesus spoke of it first, asking, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tribute? From their children or from others?” When Peter said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the children are free. However, so that we do not give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook; take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth you will find a coin; take that and give it to them for you and me.”
