LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF – ASSEMBLING PERSONAL CARE KITS
At our September joint service on 9/27, we will assemble personal care kits to send to Lutheran World Relief. When families find their homes destroyed, or must flee for their safety, soap and a towel rarely make the cut for what they can carry. Arriving in a refugee camp or other safe place, they are scared, vulnerable, and dirty from the travel. The simple items in a Personal Care Kit provide much-needed self-care, critical germ-fighting supplies, and the chance for our neighbors in need to regain dignity amidst fear and uncertainty. Please donate NEW adult-size nail clippers (with or without file) and place them in the basket in the narthex by September 20. Thank you for your generosity!
CROP WALK – SEPTEMBER 20
The annual St. Joseph County CROP WALK for Hunger takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026. CROP Walk funding benefits the overseas work of Church World Service as well as local food pantries including Broadway Christian Parish. Gathering starts at 1:15 pm at Zion Community Church, 221 S. St. Peter Street, South Bend, IN 46617. The walk starts at 2 pm. Register online or contribute at: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/event/southbendin. Or place your contribution in the marked container in the narthex. Thank you!

INDIANA-KENTUCKY SYNOD – APPEAL FOR DISASTER SUPPORT
Our synod has recently experienced severe weather events, from tornadoes and damaging winds to widespread flooding. Our synod’s Disaster Response Coordinator, Jayme Beneker, is working to identify where help is needed most. Flood buckets with basic cleaning supplies for people whose homes have been damaged by floodwaters, are especially needed. Each bucket costs $50; even a little bit helps with recovery! Please help by writing a check payable to Hilltop Lutheran Church and put “IN-KY Disaster Response Fund” in the memo line. Thank you for your support and your prayers for our neighbors!
