Cathedral of Saint James - South Bend Worship with us! SUNDAYS at 8 a.m. (formal & quiet) and 10:30 a.m. (hymns & choir); FRIDAYS at 12:05 p.m. All services take place in the main sanctuary.

Enter through the double doors on Lafayette Boulevard. The Cathedral of Saint James, founded in 1868, is the oldest Episcopal congregation in South Bend. Located at the corner of West Washington Street and North Lafayette Boulevard, Saint James is a downtown, urban parish committed to serving the downtown area of South Bend. As the cathedral of our Diocese, Saint James draws membership nearby from

South Bend, Mishawaka, and Granger; and farther away from North Liberty, New Carlisle, Plymouth, Indiana, and Niles, Michigan, just across the state line. By drawing members from a relatively wide area, the congregation of Saint James is comprised of a good mix of age, worship styles, ethnicity, education, and occupation. Our diversity reflects the open and welcoming atmosphere of the parish. Saint James has been the Cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana since 1957. The Diocese encompasses 34 faith communities reaching across the northern third of Indiana.
