Please pray for communities across northern Ontario facing more than 170 active wildfires, along with the evacuations, smoke, disruption, and fear they bring.

Fifteen remote Indigenous communities have been obliged to evacuate and this number may climb. The impacts of this crisis will continue long after the headlines fade, as people are displaced and later work to rebuild and return home.

MCC Ontario is connecting with partners and leaders across northwestern Ontario and beyond to discern immediate and longer-term needs and coordinate support. We will share opportunities to contribute as they arise. In the meantime, let us hold the people of northern Ontario in our hearts.

Due to the forecast, our Summer Fun Night, planned for tomorrow at Plains Mennonite, has been rescheduled for August 6.

It will still be held at Plains, from 6:30 to 8:30, with a bounce house!
