Sonoma Valley Church of the Nazarene

Sonoma Valley Church of the Nazarene Do you need rest for your soul? Tired of the hunt for peace and hustle of life? Come to The Sanctuary 🕊️ and find compassion. We teach through books of the Bible.

Our family exists to experience and share God’s love together. We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience a great one! Our Sunday Service Time is at 11:00 a.m. What to Expect:

In total our service is about 60 minutes in length. We Sing Together

The worship team kicks

off the service with modern music. The words are projected on a screen for people to sing along. If you don’t want to stand or sing, that’s completely fine – feel free to just listen! We like to tell the stories of the Bible. We tell them within the cultural, historical and geopolitical context of the story. Then we talk about how this story is calling us to live and impact that makes. We are challenged to grow and change. It is always an encouraging and hope-filled message! We take communion together. On the fourth Sunday of every month to respond to God’s grace in our lives by reminding ourselves that we all come to the Kingdom of God the same way – as broken people saved by an incredible God and His sacrificial and saving grace. This is an open communion for everyone who is a follower of Jesus! We take an offering. Don’t worry! We actually ask guests not to give! This is an opportunity for our regular attenders to fund the work of the Kingdom of God. We also sing a song or two at the end during this time. Wear What You Want:

Sundays at Sonoma Valley Church are exciting, casual, and friendly. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

It is with sadness that we share that our beloved brother, Don Stephens, passed away on Thursday afternoon after a courageous battle with glioblastoma that lasted more than two years.

Throughout his journey, Don demonstrated remarkable faith, strength, and perseverance. He touched countless lives through his involvement in both our church family and the recovery community, where he was known for his compassion, encouragement, a little dry humor, and willingness to walk alongside others in their struggles and victories.

Many of us were blessed by his friendship, his testimony, his sense of humor, and his genuine care for people. His life reflected the love of Christ in ways both big and small, and his impact will continue to be felt by all who knew him.

As we grieve his passing, we also give thanks for the gift of his life and the hope we have in Christ. Please keep Don’s family, friends, and all those who loved him in your prayers during this difficult time.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

You will be deeply missed, dear brother.
