Andalusian artisans took an old technique and industrialized it: the qurq, a light cork-soled shoe, became a staple export from 10th-century Seville and Granada. The Spanish word alcorque still carries its name.

عَسَىٰ رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ
ʿAsā rabbī ay-yahdiyanī sawā'as-sabīl
