Join Us for Ananda Mandir’s Grand Annual Durga Utsav
With immense joy and devotion, Ananda Mandir invites you and your family to celebrate Sharadiya Durga Puja 2026, from Friday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 21.
Durga Puja is the largest and most cherished annual celebration at Ananda Mandir—a sacred time when our entire community comes together as one family to welcome Maa Durga. For six beautiful days, the temple will be filled with prayers, the sound of the dhaak, the fragrance of flowers and incense, the warmth of shared meals, and the happiness of meeting friends both old and new.
Whether you have been part of Ananda Mandir for many years or will be visiting us for the first time, Maa’s doors are open to everyone. Come with your children, parents, relatives and friends. Come to pray, celebrate, reconnect and experience the divine presence of Maa Durga.
Who Is Maa Durga, and Why Do We Worship Her?
Maa Durga is the divine embodiment of Shakti—the universal power that creates, protects and sustains all life. She is the compassionate Mother who gives us strength in times of difficulty, courage in the face of fear, wisdom when we are uncertain, and hope when the path ahead appears challenging.
Her victory over Mahishasura represents the eternal triumph of good over evil, truth over falsehood, knowledge over ignorance and courage over fear. Yet Maa Durga is not only a warrior. She is also the loving mother of the universe—protective, forgiving and always ready to bless her children.
When we stand before Maa Durga with folded hands, we do not pray only for material prosperity. We seek the strength to overcome the “demons” within us—anger, ego, greed, jealousy, fear and division. We ask Maa to awaken within us compassion, humility, confidence and the determination to do what is right.
Significance of Our Annual Durga Puja
Sharadiya Durga Puja is much more than a religious ceremony. It is a spiritual homecoming.
In our tradition, Maa Durga is lovingly welcomed as Uma, the daughter returning to her parental home with her children. Her arrival fills every heart with joy, while Vijaya Dashami reminds us that every farewell carries the promise of another return.
Each year, Durga Puja gives us an opportunity to pause from our busy lives and renew our connection with the divine, with our traditions and with one another. Through Bodhan, Anjali, Sandhi Puja, Arati, Bhog and Vijaya Dashami, we preserve a timeless heritage and pass its meaning to the next generation.
At Ananda Mandir, this celebration also strengthens the bonds that hold our community together. Children discover their cultural roots, families create lifelong memories, seniors reconnect with cherished traditions, and people from every background experience the spirit of devotion, inclusion and service.
Celebrate, Pre-Register and Help Sustain Ananda Mandir
Durga Puja is a festival of devotion, but it is also a festival of togetherness. The temple comes alive with sacred worship, uplifting music, beautiful decorations, community meals, cultural experiences, laughter, friendship and the shared joy of receiving Maa’s blessings.
This grand celebration is made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of devotees like you. Ananda Mandir depends greatly on the contributions received during this annual festival to support worship services, temple operations, community activities, cultural programs and the continued care of our spiritual home throughout the year.
We humbly request every family to:
Pre-register early so that we can prepare appropriately for worship, Bhog, seating, parking and other arrangements.
Donate generously as an expression of devotion and gratitude. Every contribution—large or small—helps sustain Ananda Mandir and ensures that our traditions continue for future generations.
Your donation is not simply support for an event. It is an offering to Maa, an investment in our community and a gift to the generations that will follow us.
Please pre-register and make your offering today at:
